i have never been given a substantive reason why anyone believes bab or bahaullah were sent to us by our Creator.

that pretty much sums up my examination of bahaism.
Hi Eddie,

I can try and answer that.

How do you KNOW Christ is true?

You might say that you read the Bible then I would ask - how do you KNOW the Bible is true?

How do you KNOW something is true? You can’t tell me because I can forever counter question you until you admit you JUST KNOW.

Because it’s MYSTICAL. Your relation with God is mystical. So is mine and everyone else’s.

You can only KNOW truth in your heart. Every person has been endowed with a soul so they can recognise God when they read His Words or come across His believers.

You can’t give yourself any proof also except that it all boils down to your soul just KNOWING Christ is truth.

I just KNOW from exposure to the Writings of Baha’u’llah and from reading His Words that He’s from God. We all have that capacity to KNOW and to worship God.

You can’t PROVE Jesus to anyone only expose people to His Word and pray for them that their soul is pure enough to see the truth. Because belief is a ‘mystical relation with God’ that comes from the soul. The soul KNOWS its creator like a dog knows it’s master. Sorry for the analogy but that’s all I could think of.

Why don’t people know Who Bahaullah is? Their soul may be clouded with preconceived ideas. They may not have read enough or anything of His Words. They may be scared that if they investigate they will lose their own belief. Not true but many are scared of that.

I became a Baha’i after reading a few Bahai books. Thief in the night was one and the Book of Certitude another.

But it’s mystical. None can prove the Bab and Baha’u’llah are true or false to you except your own soul. But it’s better to investigate and be sure either way however your soul is the judge and jury. No one can prove it to you, not me Kam or Tony only your own soul.

world citizen,

i agree that faith is a gift and who receives it and who does not is a mystery.

but i asked about a reason.

i can give many reasons for my faith in Jesus Christ. they are sound and logical reasons formed from all the information made available to me.

that is what i have never been given in support of the faith the bahais place in bab and bahaullah.

the use of reason is what i find lacking in the bahai religion. i have no doubt that the faith of the bahai is sincere. i just think it is not reasonable. those are two different concepts, sincerity and reason. i do not believe sincerity alone is convincing.

That is the Whole truth and Nothing But the truth, so help me God 😉

One other ingredient i would add, It is Gods Blessing, Mercy and Bounty.

God Bless and Regards Tony

It’s simple… we believe that there was an event that happened in history where thousands of people saw Jesus come back from the dead, and this changed the world.
Do you have a credible non-Christian source for this event please?

.

And a few saw Muhammad and a few Saw the Bab and a few saw Baha’u’llah and the Worlds also changed.

It was not the Followers that changed the World Though

Interesting how it repeats itself but we still clink to one certain aspect of the entire Unity.

Regards Tony

faith unsupported by reason can be motivating, but it can hardly be call rational.

i can never see myself embracing irrational faith.

the bahai belief in bab and bahaullah as well as the muslim belief in the spirit that gave mohammed the koran have no substantive reasons to support them.

show me your faith unsupported by reason and i will show you faith fully supported by reason.

Eddie you’re right about the need for reason

That’s what every Bahai did, we read Baha Books which I like most for their reasoning and logic

world citizen,

what reasons do you find most substantive in supporting your belief that bab and bahaullah were sent to mankind by the One God?

signing off for today, back another day.

Indeed

At least the genealogy chart is testable…

.
It’s not going to work Servant, Bahaism is just too bizarre. Now with the internet Bahaism is being exposed, in the olden days people were ignorant and could be duped, but not anymore, the truth is finally coming out 😉

Worldcitizen, have you nothing to say when I said you were wrong about the Mass?

MJ

Thank you. I made my choice. I cannot fathom a love deeper than the sacrifices Baha’u’llah made for me to instil a pure, sincere love for all, not just for my own co-religionists.

.
So, you’ve decided that the RCIA isn’t a valid way of understanding Catholicism. Is that right?

MJ

to be certain, I don’t know all the rules of a forum.

But I’ve reached for what the bishops say for analytics, and hope I align where I give commentary.

I don’t mind Tony posting what the Bahai say about something in the Bible.

I’m sure he knows I can put no stock in the analysis because I would come from a POV that Bahai are not authorized to interpret.

But again, I don’t know if what he did was wrong, but I don’t think it’s horrible.

It shows he did some research on the subject.

It touched him.

Take care,

mike
He said he had no time and then pasted from the website. That’s not research surely.
