We believe that the early Christianity became Apostate, and Mormonism is a Restoration of God’s true Church. You are free to disbelieve it, but that doesn’t make it untrue. Lots of people didn’t believe in Jesus either (and still don’t), but that doesn’t stop Him from being the Son of God. I believe that Mormonism is true, but you don’t. I suppose we will just have to wait for judgment day to see who is right and who is wrong. I don’t mind the wait.
I think we all get that zerinus, but when you make statements such as the BoM and D&C do not conflict with the Bible and then ask us to prove a negative to support your position it kind of disproves your whole point.

Zerinus,

I look forward to your answers to the 7 questions in my posts 81 & 82.

Anna
Here they are:
1. Please cite and quote the passages of Scripture that support the definition of “mystery,” that you claim is “Biblical.”
Already answered in post #75. There is a link there that leads you to the relevant scriptures that give you the biblical definition of “mystery”.
**2. **Please cite and quote your source for the Mormon definition of “mystery.”
The same. The Mormon definition of mystery is the same as the biblical one.
**3. **How does one in Mormonism consume the flesh and blood of Christ?
One doesn’t. We don’t think that you have understood that scripture correctly.
4. So, how can you say that nothing else is done?
We disagree with how you understand the scriptures. Also, by that comment I meant the liturgical aspects of the Mass. None of that was present in the last supper.
**5. ** Zerinus, does the Mormon belief that God is an exalted man contribute to your statement, “There is nothing about God that is beyond the human capacity to understand fully?”
No.
6. Do you see God as an equal?
No.
7. Zerinus, I would like this questioned answered also.
Well, I could argue that you guys are worshipping a “different Jesus”. We worship the Jesus of the Bible. I am not sure what kind of Jesus it is that you are worshipping.

I have heard this from a lot of Mormons here in Utah. So I have thought about it and applied it to my catholic faith.

I know that this will not even be a thought in heaven. No one will be proven right or wrong or care who is right or wrong in heaven. This is human thinking not spiritual thinking
As to whom will be in heaven, those that rely on the mercy of
God
. The unworthy who know it and look to Jesus who is worthiness itself.

“After we are transformed, we can look back and see that we were guided through this process by Another who is choosing us, desiring us, and is infinitely wise and compassionate. That means you do not have to figure out all the patterns ahead of time. You do not have to be that smart, that good. You just have to surrender. Good spirituality is not about being good. It is about God being good. When you keep your eyes on the reality of God’s goodness, then God rubs off into you. You start being good almost in spite of yourself, but you do not even care about it anymore. You are not checking whether you are better than the next person. (weather they are right and you are wrong) You have got something so much more wonderful to be excited about.

For me it’s always the
Holy Communion
Its always Jesus

Maybe you can underrated that zerinus, I will be praying for you.
You have run into some well educated in the spirit Catholics. They do care about you very much. I am certainly not educated myself as you already know.

Yes, you could argue that. The difference is, our Jesus, the TRUE one, is supported by the Bible and Traidtion. Yours is not supported by anything. Yours is Satan’s big brother. Yours is not even important, because “Adam is the only god with who we have anything to do with”

The Jesus we worship is the same Jesus that started our Church, who founded it upon our first Pope, and whose continual presence sustains it, since you were wondering.

My post was addressed to Anna Scott, who was questioning what kind of Jesus I was worshiping. It was not addressed to you. But now that you have brought it up, I would inform you again that I worship the Jesus of the Bible. If the Jesus you worship is different from mine, then you are the one who is worshiping a “different Jesus”.

BoM and D&C do not conflict with the Bible.
Repeating the same thing over and over does not make it true, nor is it convincing. I see nothing in the Bible that would conflict with saying that the moon is made of green cheese (show me where it says it isn’t), but that doesn’t make it true.

You have not shown that there is any conflict between the Bible and Mormon scripture.

Well, I think, somewhere back there, I asked you to show where the Bible allows you to use water instead of wine. You failed to do that, instead responding “where does it say we can’t use water?” (paraphrase). Your argument, as well as your premise are both false. We could start there. As far as the rest of Mormon “scripture” it would be off-topic but I think it would be a great thread in and of itself. You should start it since you claim it.

No, Zen is correct. BM and DC do not conflict with the Bible any more than the Lord of the Rings does. The Bible is the Word of God and BM and DC are fiction. Hard to compete with the Bible when you are merely fiction

I don’t see that as a contradiction. This is what the Lord has revealed on the subject:

D&C 27:

2 For, behold, I say unto you, that it mattereth not what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink when ye partake of the sacrament, if it so be that ye do it with an eye single to my glory—remembering unto the Father my body which was laid down for you, and my blood which was shed for the remission of your sins.
3 Wherefore, a commandment I give unto you, that you shall not purchase wine neither strong drink of your enemies;
4 Wherefore, you shall partake of none except it is made new among you; yea, in this my Father’s kingdom which shall be built up on the earth.

To me the logic of that is so plain, self-evident, and compelling that I cannot understand how anyone could consider it a contradiction.

I am all for it. Since you are the one who says there is a contradiction, I think you are the one who should start such a thread, and tell us what those contradictions are. If I started such a thread, I wouldn’t have anything to put in the OP, except to say there is no contradiction! 🙂

and there you have the proof that the LDS Church is FALSE!!! It teaches a different dovtrine from what Jesus taught.

Thank you, Zen, for exposing the CoLDS as FALSE.

First, Diana admitted you have no prophets AND that the DC were not revelations, and now you have exposed it for being FALSE.

Thank you

You don’t see a contradiction? Jesus, who used the elements of unleavened bread and wine in accordance with the Passover, of which He is the Lamb, and following in the line of Melchizedek, who also used bread and wine, then supposedly comes to another part of the world and says “I don’t care what you use as long as you remember me?”. Please. Why would he tell them something different than he told the twelve Apostles?

Maybe this doesn’t bother you as much as it does the rest of us because you have become accustomed to ever changing doctrines, but the rest of Christianity relies on the unchanging truths of God.

In short, yes, I see a huge contradiction between the Jesus of the BoM and D&C and the Jesus of the Bible.

You have a point. However that would require more a thesis than a thread. For the sake of focus and brevity it is probably best to stick with one contradition at a time, don’t you think?

Don’t know for sure, but if you mean Dianaiad (and unless she’s converted since I last checked ) , I’d be amazed if she admitted that the LDS has no prophets, or that the DC (D&C?) were not revelations. She may have said that the JoD was not scriptural, but I suspect that she’s pretty firm on the D&C. I don’t concur with her on but I don’t believe the above quoted comments re: her are accurate. Now, if you mean some other Diana, I withdraw.
