Hi Marie,Exactly.
Until people, esp men, can imitate Our Lady’s authentic humility, these sort of happenings will continue to occur.
Humility is no easy task for any human, esp for men. I think that is due to (and I am serious) testosterone. There is something so very competitive in men. At least in western culture.
I always enjoy your posts.
Testosterone is values-neutral. It is not that we have it, but how we use it.
But you are absolutely correct about emulating the humility of Our Lady. We men often find it difficult to be humble and patient and to take the time and effort to truly listen and to be kind in the little ways that are so important.
The rosary has been a great blessing to me, and helps me (a naturally dominant person) to temper my nature; though how successful I have been is still up for discussion.
I was blessed to have wonderful and brilliant parents who taught me the inherent value and complimentarily nature of both sexes. The older I get, the more I realize that my late father was an extraordinary man.
My older daughter calls me a “male feminist”. I consider that a fine compliment. I grieve for the plight of women the world over and pray that one day all persons will be seen as Saint Paul described:
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.
