Re: Comparison of the Abrahamic religions
This a good peaceful description about Trinity.
.
We Muslims do not pray to any one except the God. We praise the saints but we do not worship them. We do not ask any one who has passed away to pray for us or to intercede for us…
I’d like to emphasize that we do not “pray to” saints in the way that you think of as “praying”, I guess… I believe you think of praying as adoration and praising. Catholics think of prayer as a conversation…When we pray to God, it is in adoration, praising and maybe supplication. But, when we converse with a saint it is more like…“how did you do what you did…help me to do it too…so I can please God.” and " by the way, when you talk with God …remember me to him, for I love Him dearly." I think this might be a cultural thing…and obviously your culture doesn’t seem to feel the need to do this. Evidently mine does.
That is also not allowed in Islam. The pagans also say that they have idols or symbols only. They are not gods. But just representing The God. That is not right.
I understand what you say, and what you believe. Again, I guess our culture seems to see it differently…because we don’t think of the statue AS A GOD, but to help us keep our mind on our intention…and not on other things of the world. Kind of like music to block out the things of the world that we don’t want to get into the way of our prayer…but instead of music they are visual.

**Yes, it has helped much. Even though I am not convinced but I have not run away from the Catholic beliefs because the lecture from you was good. I welcome it and I do not want to disappoint you. Thanks. I will read it again (Trionity) to understand it more clearly. **
