The D.C. Office of Human Rights has dismissed a complaint that The Catholic University of America’s single-sex dorm policy constitutes unlawful discrimination under the district’s Human Rights Act.

“We were confident from the beginning that our actions were entirely legal,” said John Garvey, president of Catholic University of America, on Nov. 30.

Corki, thanks for this news. I guess its not a surprising outcome, first because the allegation was silly, but also because the head of the DC Office of Human Rights was quoted as being unsympathetic to Banzhaf’s charges.

I rather suspect that Banzhaf knew he was going to lose this case, which is why he concocted the newer charge about Muslim students needing a crucifix-free room in which to worship. I think he just wants to cause trouble for CUA.
