Shameful. I think they only added the “bird feeders” to be able to claim it is not about Catholic discrimination.

Unfortunately, St Francis was not removed because he was a bird feeder but because he was a religious statue. 😦 Why do they allow gazing balls and other things but not statues of angels and such? If they are going to have a ban on statuary then it needs to be for all statuary. I do agree, I think this infringes on home owner rights.

Most condo and homeowners’ associations adopt reasonable rules. They seem to work better than relying on property owners to enforce zoning ordinances which by themselves may be inadequate for the type of governance people in a neighborhood desire.

However, in the past five years I have seen a lot of silly regulations being enforced by homeowners’ and condo associations. A year or so ago one association got some bad press because they were making a wounded war veteran take down an American flag he was flying.

I have no idea what the law is where the owner lives, but for everyone this is a lesson to be alert to possibly stupid restrictions that have been passed or may be adopted by a condo or homeowners’ assocation. When you sign on to them you may obligate yourself contractually to comply with their rules or rules they may adopt. Having done that you may have difficultly later objecting to them.
