Condom company advertises London’s diocesan-approved ‘gay Masses’

One of the world’s leading condom manufacturers advertised a Catholic Mass offered in December by a group of homosexualist activists at a Catholic parish in London. The boost from the Durex company came as officials of the archdiocese of Westminster continue to maintain that the so-called Soho Masses for homosexuals are merely to help “welcome” persons with homosexual inclinations who want to live according to the Catholic Church’s sexual teachings.

On the company’s website, Durex, which manufactures about a quarter of the world’s condoms, invited customers to attend the “annual World AIDS Mass” on December 5th, hosted by the Soho Masses Pastoral Council (SMPC), a group that negotiated in 2007 with the archdiocese for the use of the parish of Our Lady of the Assumption in Soho.

And, Catholic SSA people marching in the Gay Pride parade…?

Really? Is that an obedient response to the Church?

I can understand a parish actively hosting Courage classes and Courage seminars, but Masses for people who when their activities are investigated are actively supporting the homosexual agenda is insane.

I agree with you, for all the reasons I stated on that other thread, so I won’t repeat them here. That thread was pretty exhaustive about the topic in general.

Because ex communication doesn’t happen like that. Outside of a few areas that result in automatic ex communiction (as laid out in canon law), its a long and drawn out process and is usually the last resort.

Why not severe disciplinary measures? given how long this has been continuing there should be a cease and desist order sent out that brings a halt to all these activities pending further investigations. Of course it’s obvious by now that what is going on is wrong, but this would be a way to attempt to put a halt to this without a formal excommunication. As well, if the priest refuses then I’m sure there are disciplinary measures. If the priest refuses to be obedient then this will help fascilitate the process towards shutting the activities down as well as a formal excommunication of all involved.
