Excellent book! Even if it is only 33 pages long (not counting the Glossary or notes at the back nor the Contents, Forward, or the Preface pages at the front).
Not here! Oh, I have seen examples that, if they were widespread, there would be little-to-no reason to call for a blast from the past.
No, the NO at my parish is done horribly. Schlocky music, very minimal silence, clapping during the Gloria (even at funerals!!!), the sign of peace a time to catch up on gossip, and a parish employee who comes out at the end and does comedy masquerading as the announcements - all of which are in the bulletin.
It is a test of our faith. I stare at the Tabernacle and I cannot tell you who else attended - Christ was there and that’s all that matters. But it is nothing new - look at what Saint Paul confronted: Eating and drinking until they were drunk! The sleek eating while letting the poor believers go hungry. Lazarus and the rich man played out before them. Have we seen such abuse?
Thy this: When your eyes are open, focus like a laser on the Tabernacle. I do not look at those around me and not very often at Father. It is the hearing which is crucial at this point, not the seeing.
But, at the elevation, I stare intently at Christ made present.
