Confess a dark, dirty secret to everybody

I must confess…I love fried chicken, but I hardly eat it cause my Husband hates Chicken! So, I have to sacrifice…but when out and about…I go to the nearest Fried Chicken Place and devour a plate… 🐓 🍗
 
I love to:
  1. Fry a pound of bacon in a skillet.
  2. Leave all the bacon grease in the skillet.
  3. Fry 3-4 eggs in the bacon grease (sunny and runny).
  4. Fry up a bunch of potatoes in the leftover bacon grease.
  5. Fix up a couple of big ol’ slabs of toast with real butter. Lots of butter.
  6. Then wonder why I had a heart attack a few years ago…
 
Greasy fingers? Pfffffft. I’m going elbows-deep into some crawfish soon!
 
I’m in Kansas, that was from our trip to Galveston last summer.
 
When we were doing work after Katrina, Annunciation Mission did a crawfish boil for us. They threw in lots of fresh citrus into the water while boiling them.
 
When I was growing up, I used to love American politics. I thought it was the most fascinating thing in the world.

Today, I really struggle to care at all about elections and American politics in general…

…somehow most of this thread is about food of all things!

They are expensive aren’t they?

I only eat them once a year, around the Christmas holidays, right after the Advent fast.

I order them online from Don’s Specialty Meats.

In two days they arrive.

Very convenient.

There are several Cajuns living in Hawaii.

There are a lot of similarities to Louisiana. The heat and humidity, the enormous bugs, the political corruption.

I tried them…then tried them again…but cannot stomach them…ugh! Just can’t eat something I played with as a kid… 🦞
