I have had this problem and realized that although I am forgiven for my sins, I can still be sorry for them. I am not saying one should dwell on their sins, but I occassionally say, “Dear God, I am sorry I did such-and-such. I know you have forgiven me, but I want to tell you I am sorry for turning my back on You by this sin of my past. Please help me not to commit this sin again.”Ok, but do you (collectively) still play over the offense or does that never go away?
Do you think this is healthy or should I just not even think of this after I have confessed it?
