I had this realization. Unless you are deliberately sinning, knowing full well what you are doing is wrong and you simply do not care or expect to get away with it - then that is when you should worry about sin. I am very focused on sin and judgment. I forget God’s love and mercy. There is this constant feeling I am not good enough and that I can earn my salvation. If I do not understand everything now, then I am in danger because what if I die tomorrow. Oh Lord. I need to catch a break. I should not be thinking this seriously about things. Religion can feel depressing when you see life this way. It becomes very frustrating when you do not seem to change fast enough even though you are given the free-will too. Oh Lord have mercy. Patience is a virtue.

I think the mercy and patience of God is infinite. I don’t try to sin but anger and pride are on my “hit parade” as my confessor calls it. These are sins that I struggle with but I think the struggle is part of the Christian life. I know that I am not as angry and prideful as I was in the past and that gives me hope in my journey. I don’t expect to run my race at a jack rabbit’s pace but more like a snail’s pace.

We can’t earn what has been freely given. Christ laid his life down for the sheep (that would include you and I). The gift is there, all we need to do is accept it. I hope I have given you a little encouragement today. God bless all the sinners who love Him, including you and I.

The Great Commandment is to Love God. That Love brings confidence in Him.

I think that’s true… I think the more we understand God’s love, the less fear we have, though at the same time the less we want to hurt Him - yet this is out of love, like perfect contrition. It really helps to reflect on God’s love and do mental prayer, imo…

All sin is deliberate. You cannot sin by accident.
