About the end times? Nothing. I’ve heard the term “end times” bandied about so much it’s lost all meaning for me (no offence).

About a possible WW3? I don’t think it’ll be anything on the scale of a world war… MAYBE a regional conflict but I think that’s far-fetched too. I think Iran will do its best to save face with its supporters while avoiding at all costs a war with the U.S… Middle East will remain as unstable as ever, unless a miracle happens. Seems like Iran’s already started with the saving face part. But you never know what might happen, so this is all just a mixture of my conjectures, expectations, and hopes.

Apocalyptic language doesn’t necessarily point to the end times, at least not in the traditional sense.

The U.S. is going to retaliate. I don’t see how we cannot. I’m not saying I want a war but my country isn’t just going to let that one slide.

I don’t see this escalating into an all out war. Nobody wants it. Iran can’t win and we don’t want it. We just want them to stop their support of terrorism.

Yeah, problem is that we are using violence to stop violence. It’s called escalation.

We’ve spent 5 trillion dollars and spent many lives “fighting” terror instead of simply listening to people’s legitimate grievances. And in the mean time, with our drones, etc., we have become the terrorists.

This goes way back in time. We may have made some mistakes, but their terror needs to be dealt with. We can’t sit by and let them kill with impunity.

Iranians could say the same of us. One man’s “freedom fighter” is another man’s “terrorist”. The killing of General Soleimani was a terrorist act, is forbidden under just war doctrine, and if not an act of war is simply murder.

The US, as Iran, has sponsored terror. Start with a definition of terror, and I can give you examples of how we have done it.

Why are you conflating a prophetic Biblical passage with this?

Why are you not?
One impending war is hardly the end of days. As God said , no one knows the hour or the day or the minute…
I dont imagine you are conflating one of the political leaders involved in this spat with the anti christ. Are you?

I hope cooler heads prevail… we may hear some word this morning from the White House, be very cautious and strong yes, but don’t get into a conflict. No, nobody from my understanding was killed, it sounds like injuries are light as well as damage. We need to walk away from a direct hot war… but perhaps pressure Iran, human rights are rather horrible. A lot of reputable sources on twitter.

Heshmat Alavi: People diss twitter, perhaps rightfully but just like the whole internet in general, there is good and there is bad.

That earthquake is not mentioned on the twitter link, but it was an interesting read.

We’ll have to agree to disagree. There is no way I.could ever understand why someone thinks the way you do, so an argument would be fruitless.

If you were president, and Iran killed yet another American (Soleimani is reported to be responsible for over 600 American deaths), what is your response?

Many men and women in the service have died on Trump’s watch. I expect that when that happens, our response is dictated is lawful and proportionate and dictated by the strategies in place to fulfill our well-defined mission.
