Hi again Markie. Please - I did not say repeated prayers are wrong. They are not in and of themselves, and if you can do them with heart and mind, it’s OK. No argument, it’s just not for me.
As for revelations like Fatima, I think Galatians 1:8-9 gives us warning of such things.
Things like this are not clear where they are from, unless you take them at face value. The message is not*** clearly in line with scripture to me***, as Acts 4:12 seems to not concur with Fatima.
The enemy is powerful and sly - I choose to not play with things like this.
I am not trying to be a n-C, but that is what I see.
Fact is - even the church does not dogmatically declare Fatima as essential as far as I know, nor do they demand repeated prayers.
A little liberty on things that are not clear, please?
That pretty much says it all. Your interpretation of scripture vs the Church.
I’m not big on apparitions either, but the Church has examined them and declared them to be OK for belief, so we can guarantee that this is not Satanic.
We have to understand Mary’s role as a instrument in our salvation. Yes Jesus saves us and to Him be all the adoration…this is Church teaching and you and all protestants would agree with it. But we also have several other people who contributed in the formation of the church. Mary being the ultimate of created beings as she bore God in her womb.(BTW this is her in REV 12) John the Baptist, the apostles and the blood of the early martyrs who refused to let the Church cease under heavy persecution. And more recently how about the Catholic priest who was beheaded in France by Isis monsters for refusing to deny the Lord? We should honor them and give them thanks for their great contribution to the early Church. They are part of the body of Christ and united to the Lord. so thanks to His great grace they preserved until the end…instruments used by God so that you and I, and all Christians everywhere can come to know Him freely worship Him where and when we choose.
I used to have a huge problem with the co-redemptrix label thrown out there at times by Catholics. Now I do not because I have a proper understanding of what is being said…one Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ, and many instruments used by Him, with Mary being the biggest instrument of all in regards to created beings…
