You have gotten some good advice here. I would highly recommend studying the doctrine of the Eucharist. You need to learn what is meant by the term “transubstantiation”, and what the Catholic Church means by this and why she teaches it. Although the word is a relatively new word, the teaching itself has been taught since the Apostles themselves. This is in contrast to the Pentecostals and other Protestants, who have only been around since the 16th century and teach things that were not known in the time of the Apostles.
You should also study the fathers of the Church. People like Augustine of Hippo, Thomas Aquinas, Ignatius of Antioch and Irenaeus of Lyons. We have thousands of writings from these people, and the one thing in common with
all of them is that they are all Catholic! It would take a lifetime and you would still be scarcely scratching the surface of these guys, but it really doesn’t take all that long to see just how Catholic they are.
Now, I’m going to make a prediction, Pargo. I predict that if you tell the church leaders at this Pentecostal Church that you’re attending that you’re a Catholic, then they are going to tell you all kinds of things that the Catholic Church teaches. And I also predict Pargo, that
all of these things they tell you will be false. OK, maybe not all of them, but a fair deal of them. Anyway, I want to point you to a wonderful resource that we Catholics have. It is called the
Catechism of the Catholic Church and you can find it at the Vatican website
here. Catechism basically means “teaching”. It is what is supposed to happen at Catholic schools, but sadly it often does not. And so Pargo, when these guys at your Pentecostal church tell you that the Catholic Church teaches something or other, I encourage you to go to the Catechism and find out if what they say is true. And then, find out exactly what it is that the Catholic Church
does teach.
I suspect these guys already know that you are Catholic, right Pargo? Well let me tell you that what they did to you - in baptising you again - is absolutely terrible. It was not your fault, since you did not know what you were doing. But they really should have known better! Not only Catholics would be scandalised by them doing this, but probably 99% of all Christians in the world today. Maybe you should research baptism so you can find out what I’m talking about.
My last word of advice is to learn about the Sacrament of Confession. If you come to realise that what you did in being baptised again (or anything else) was wrong, then you need to go to the Sacrament and Confess it. Again, you
must only do this if you know that it is wrong. If you don’t really mean the Confession, then it doesn’t count. Confession is really a wonderful thing. You might think it is the scariest place on Earth, but once you know what it is, it becomes almost the most wonderful place on Earth.
