Thank for all the advice and prayers. I need to continue to find what suite me better.I still consider myself a Catholic.
what suite you better! what does that mean? are you seeking something to please you or are you seeking to please Our God?

Ok, I was born and raised Catholic and attended Catholic school. I was recently invited to attend a Pentecostal church from a friend of mine. Now I feel more allegiance to this church then my own. I was also baptized again, in this church. I really need some answers or help on what to do.

My mother is up-set that I left the Catholic Church. Is there a difference in religion or what is the difference.
Dear pargo.

What do you mean when you say you were baptised again? do you mean baptised in the Holy Spirit or do you mean one more water baptism? If it was baptism with water… you dont need that, since you are already baptised… but you really should not have done it because it shows a lack of faith in the Baptism God had already given you.

Look… you have to understand that we love our Pentecostal brothers… but they need something. They need the Sacraments and the priests. That means if you become a Pentecostal then you cannot go to confession anymore and you cant come to receive the Body and Blood of Jesus anymore. Okay?

It sounds to me like you have been very poorly taught.

I understand that you like the Pentecostal Church… their music and preaching and their fellowship and charismatic gifts.
However… these things are all found inside the Catholic Church too. If you look for these things and havent found them in your catholic parish church then you need to go and find them in another Catholic Parish… there is a charismatic movement in the Catholic Church. Maybe you should probably be there. I am not saying you should not look for these great things… but do remain Catholic.

Dont go away from the Catholic Church…
I have been at alot of pentecostal meetings and services but never neglected the Catholic Mass as a result. Jesus does not want that. You must understand. Jesus is in the Holy Eucharist… and the Pentecostals dont believe in this… they see it as a symbol and they dont have the authority to have the sacraments.

This does not mean that the Holy Spirit is not with them too… but … man you gotta find some really good Catholic and Charismatic priest in your area and make him teach you the things you need to know.
It matters where you are.

And dont ever, ever go under the rites in another church without asking a Catholic priest first about the implications of this!
You could have been seriously hurt!

PS… How in the world can you go and get re-baptised and then AFTERWARDS say: " is there a difference in religion or what? "

You are very immature and irresponsible :dts:

Look, you really don’t want help. Why can’t you get it into your head that you are NOT Catholic. You are Protestant. You have left the Church.
Cut it out… he has not left the church before HE says so and decides to … but with all the madness on this thread I could easily understand if you throw him right into the arms of another church…

Look … PENTECOST happend to the apostles… it belongs to no Church in partucular but is an act of the Holy Spirit. If you long for a personal pentecost experience you get on your knees and ask the Holy Spirit to give it to you… Thats perfectly fine Catholic teaching too and many Catholics have experienced it.
No need to go to another Church to get what is already in the Catholic Church for 2000 years…

Thanks so much!!!
Thank God!
Please say “I’m sorry…” to your mom. It is always a virtue to respect your parents.
I believed you. I can see… that whatever “misinformations” that lingered in your mind DIDN’T reach your heart.
Please be careful with your Catholic faith.
God bless.

What’s your problem mate? If you think this post is beneficial to anyone then I think you need to seriously re-think your presence here on these forums.

Atreyu…
Just a little note off topic.
Your name is great… how did you come up with that I wonder:) hehe…

Hehe. I love the (first) movie. I haven’t seen the others - I suppose I’ll have to do that some day. I didn’t like the book though. One of the few occasions where the movie is better than the book!

I believe the bolded statement is false. Confession is the one Sacrament she can have if she intends to reconcile with the Church.

I don’t think she knows what she left. People keep talking about the sacraments and that but all that’s meaningless if she doesn’t know why they’re important. She’s probably been told that they’re not. Plus, just because she went to Catholic school doesn’t mean she’s had a Catholic upbringing.

Anyway, Pargo, Did you know…
-That the Catholic Church is the only Church that can trace her roots all the way to the apostles?
-That all other Christian Chuches are breakaway churches from the Catholic Church?
-That most of their traditions come from us? (the bible, sunday worship, Trinity, Christmas, Easter, etc)
-The bible, did you know the Catholic Church is who compiled the bible?
-That all the early Christians believed in the Real Presence of the Eucharist and now most including Pentacostals do not?

If your really looking for a Church that suits you, go to any church you want. If you want to go to a church that teaches the TRUTH and you want please God, then come back to the Catholic Church.

If you didn’t get much out of the Catholic Church and you weren’t fullfilled, then you need to learn more of what the Catholic Church teaches and why. The Catholic Church is the most fullfilling Church on EARTH!!

I believe I have read every post on this thread.

Responsible answers to Pargo’s questions really need to be targeted to her particular situation. How old is she? Is she living at home? How long has she been tangled up with the Pentecostals? Has she any experience of the Catholic Charismatic Movement?

The other resource I encourage you to use is these forums! You can really learn a lot here.

Well, I agree with you and I’ve learnt a lot about catholic faith in this forum although I was baptized since I was a baby.
