The link to the Resolution authorizing the invasion of Iraq has been posted on this forum. Mr Pain is new to the forum. Perhaps he would like to explore the ‘search’ feature at the top of his screen. A really good way to retrieve information already posted here numerous times. As for us re-posting links: I am not going on any rabbit chases. There’s enough work involved in looking up current info.

But he said explicitly he didn’t want that, he wants the (non-extent) declaration of war. I’d have liked one too.

And he doesnt want it becuase when one suffers from Bush Derangement Syndrome “facts” are the LAST think you want to be confronted with.

Bill Clinton used wire tapping without a warrant and Jimmy Carter did too. So why weren’t they impeached?

Where do I find information on this accusation? Definately be interested in reading about this accusation that Bill Clinton and Carter did same.

A bipartisan group of senators opposed renewing parts of the Patriot Act because of the civil liberty implications, only last week.

Mike
How many cases are thier in which US citizens have had thier liberties taken away, or threatened?

The only deranged person in this topic is Mr. Bush.

You can’t impeach someone for stupidity and incompetence.

AS much as I don’t like Bush, I think he is more misled (by Cheney and the rest) and ill-advised as opposed to being a crook or mean spirited. He really thinks he is doing the right thing. It’s just that he is wrong about a whole lot of things.

John Pain:
Please furnish a link to the formal declaration of war as required by the Constitution. I am not referring to the resolution passed by Congress giving Bush the authority to use his discretion with Iraq.
There has been no declaration of war. Doesn’t need to be. You might want to read up on the War Powers Act.

I’ve no idea. But just because the current government is using excessive powers wisely (if indeed it is) it is no guarantee the next one will.

I don’t know why the focus on citizens either. I was living in the USA, subject to the Patriot Act, and wasn’t a citizen, for some time. I don’t see why the accident of where I was born should affect how I am treated by such laws.

And what powers do you feel are excesive?

This current administration along with other Republicans have acted so un-Christian like it is ridiculous!

They pass bills to harm the environment, and as of yesterday continue to cut spending on poor and elderly. We let it happen. What is happening here.

Both parties are lacking morals: We have Far-Left Democrats who have taken control of that party with their abortion supporting platforms (not to mention other anti-religeon platforms) and then we have the Republicans starting un-just wars (Iraq), abusing civil rites (spying on citizens with out warrants), chronism, destroying the environment and policies that have increased poverty rate and further distanced the rich from the poor.

There have been NO cuts either suggested or voted upon to any programs for the poor and elderly. I also am not aware of any bills passed that harm the enviroment. Nor are your assertions that that they have abused civil rights, are illegaly spying on citizens or involved in an unjust war correct. In shot you rant is long on emotion but has no basis in fact.
