I certainly never meant to infer that chastity is the entirety of the problem, but I think it certainly is part of the problem.

I don’t think the Church thinks it is above the law; I think that some bishops did not do what they were supposed to do, and that they wrongly went in the direction of covering their ***** instead of letting it be known that malefactors had entered the hierarchy.

Do NOT be deceived by Satan! This is MOST assuredly a homosexual problem! To think otherwise is to have your head in the sand and to be deceived.

Investigators believe that adult male priest to female laity victim rape and sexual assault is even greater than the pedophilia. But there is hardly any priest to male laity sexual assault. We should consider banning all heterosexual priests.

But to minimize the depravity of what has happened, and been covered up, by the priesthood simply because most of the abuse was ‘supposedly’ committed by gay men is the ultimate in cowardice and further hurts the victims of this scandal. Conservatives pushing this line of reasoning should be ashamed.
It is a problem and I think SOMEBODY should be pushing it, conservative or otherwise

Sure all abuse should be ended. Who is against THAT?

These scandals and THIS kind of controversy HERE show why I try to have as little involvement with the church as possible. I spend more time here trying to make some sense than I do in worship on Sundays. There are people on this website who are in denial of the problems in the church. People will ignore 99% of what I say and nit pick one little thing. People here say “Pray” – pray? I say WE have to take responsibility and DO something.

I believe what the Church teaches. I can’t stand the people in power who DO NOTHING to fix the problems, once and for all. Around 250 bishops vs. 60 million Catholics in the US. Why do the 250 always win? Don’t talk to me about the “good” priests and bishops until the problems are fixed. There are NO good priests and bishops until the problems are fixed.
