We have to pray for this guy, so he can survive this attack from the enemy and accomplish something if he can keep his position.

Someone’s got to reevangelize Germany: only four percent of its eighty-odd million people go to church weekly nowadays, if I recall correctly.

Not a bad idea.

Joseph Rätzinger, not being a cessationist, could be a great instrument in the hands of God for the fulfillment of such a glorious purpose. The charismatic gifts, if the Lord so willed, could be used to get in a few well-placed blows against the secular indifference of the European masses.

This would persuade even some of the most hard-core atheist scientists that God isn’t an imaginary old man living in the sky after all. And that could save the nation of beer and sausage from self-inflicted extinction; the spring of the next generation is drying up fast, given the average of 1.4 children per family…

I see this as a real trend in dioceses where they were ruled by liberal Catholic Bishops who would allow anything and everything to go on, only to be replaced by a Catholic Bishop who takes his Catholic responsibilities seriously. Examples would be L.A., Milwaukee and Ottawa Canada.
 
People are upset because someone actually sticks up for the Faith? Sounds about right.

He stands accused of adhering to the teachings of the Catholic Church! Reminds me of the New York Times reaction to Pope Benedict XVIs selection complaining that the Catholic Church had once again install a “Conservative” Pope. The New York Times as do the liberals in Berlin do not seem to get the fact that it is not a matter of liberal or conservative. It is a matter of adhering to the teachings of the Church.
 
someone’s got to stop Germany from repeating the immorality of the Weimar Republic.
