I’m enjoying the Catholic Forums podcast. Found via iTunes, or here’s their website: catholicforum.libsyn.com/.

Episodes are usually about a half hour and appear to come out on Wednesdays and Sundays.

Too good to let stand in an obscure “non-Catholic religions” forums thread, I thought I would link this here in apologetics. Mark Bonocore does quite well against Matt Slick (founder of CARM.org), many topics are covered (salvation, sola scriptura, visible vs. invisible church, etc). Parts 1 and 2 are the better ones, Part 3 they started to repeat themselves. Sounds like they may do more too. Here they are so far:

Part 1 MP3 (60 minutes)
Part 2 MP3 (60 minutes)
Part 3 MP3 (60 minutes)

Matt Slick and CARM podcast page here

Why he encodes them at 64 kbps I don’t know when 16 kbps does just fine. I’ve re-encoded parts 1 and 2 as one MP3 on my site. Mark Brumley was supposed to be on the show sometime as well, but Bonocore does just fine!

My dear husband and I volunteer a great deal of our time at a new Catholic apostolate in our area. The main thing we do is tape a Catholic television show called The One True Faith, which is broadcast on Michigan tv stations on Sundays. But the physical location of the studio also offers classes in Church History, authentic Catholic Bible study, a coffee shop, a fantastic gift shop, and just a really great place to “be” Catholic. There is even a chapel to pray when ever you like, and the staff there does so as part of their regular work day.

Anyway - you can now get some of the shows in podcast format now, and there are a number of awesome Christmas gifts available in the gift shop section.

There is also a the Legion of St. Michael, a lay Catholic organization, which is part of the site - you can get there from the home page.

Please take a look and see what you think: www.catholictelevision.org

Oh - and I’m not one of those folks who just goes around and posts stuff about a site and disapears. What ever they are called. 🙂 I’m real.

I’ve been watching for several weeks on TV20 in Detroit, and the programs are fantastic. Keep up the good work!

Not completely free, but darn close, giftfoundation.org/pages/naked_without_shame.htm has a great 10-CD teaching on the Theology of the Body by Christopher West for $3.90, based on Pope John Paul II’s teachings. Great CD set, beautifully explained. There’s also a book by West as well. Book available at ascensionpress.com/shop/Scripts/prodView.asp?idproduct=348).
Good site for tracts and free music downloads

Thank you so much!! If you are close by, consider being a member of the audience, or just grabbing a cup of coffee in the gift shop. We always love to meet new people and hear what they think about the show. We also sing night prayers with our guests after a taping, and it’s a lovely way to end the evening.

Thanks for your comments!

Here is a site that sells the complete New American Bible (both old and new testaments) on CD and Cassette.

Faith Comes By Hearing

in the search menu choose 'New American Bible" as the version. and “complete Bible” and the portion.

Okay, having BEEN ACTUALLY PUBLISHED, no, it’s not the same thing.

Now, can we get back to the business at hand? That is, discussing techno-apologetics and perhaps later discussing why Battlestar Galactica obliterates every franchise of Star Trek on every level–WITHOUT resorting to bizarre make-up tricks…?
Except for the whole sex thing. why do they deem it necessary to have every episode of BG have someone having sex with a cyborg or a cyborg having a baby??? Ick. Give me stargate anytime.

The only podcast I see from the USCCB so far is the daily readings, but they do have a short daily video reflection on the daily readings and some other video here: atlanticvideo.com/clients/ccom/

"Each day a member of the clergy from around the country shares a reflection on the Scripture readings from today’s Mass. "

yeah I’ve heard of seven sorrows–great screamo band…critical mass too…a cyberfriend from the other forum suggested them…

i mean some kind of Christian contemporary and alternative…i’ve been trying to search but found few ones like the above mention… oh…and by the way is it ok play other christian songs with in the Mass?
