In the Catechism. You know, I didnt direct that question toward you, but since you answered -
You said The Catholic Church received its authority from Christ when he gave Peter to authority to bind and loosen.
Where do you find this tid bit of information?
#881 The Lord made Simon alone, whom he named Peter, the “rock” of his Church. He gave him the keys of his Church and instituted him shepherd of the whole flock. “The office of binding and loosing which was given to Peter was also assigned to the college of apostles united to its head.” This pastoral office of Peter and the other apostles belongs to the Church’s very foundation and is continued by the bishops under the primacy of the Pope.
Let me ask you something. Do you believe the Bible fell from the sky, fully written?
Or do you realize that Jesus Christ
- Established a Church
- Taught that Church all His Doctrines.
- Commanded that Church to Teach the whole world
- The Church then wrote the New Testament based upon what Jesus Christ had commanded.
