I am curious, what is the basis for your statement that bestiality has increased since the widespread availability of contraception (by which I presume you mean the birth control pill, as condoms have been around a very long time in one form or another)?
I presume you must have some basis for making the statement because on the face of it, it makes little common sense. Contraception is exactly what it says-- “preventing conception.”
Are you therefore saying that you believe that people who engage in sexual intercourse with a cow or sheep or whatever are now more likely to do so because they no longer fear getting the cow or sheep pregnant? That such pregnancies were a widespread problem that previously inhibited the practice of bestiality?
Also, why would contraception be an issue in a same sex relationship? The entire basis for the objection to same sex relationships on the part of the Catholic Church is that such sexual acts are not “open to life.” If they are not so, why would contraception affect them?
You have mistakenly assumed I’m asking the same thing here. There are two different questions. Part one is seeking to find if they believe in an objective moral law. Question two was asking if they believed there was any link to sexual deviances, in general. This is why I used the word “or.”
My goal here wasn’t to prove there was a direct link between contraception and beastiality. It may very well be on the rise; I do not have statistics on this. If you know of any that suggest it’s on the decline, I would be open to that information; however, that was not my concern. Likewise, if you know if homosexuality, fornication, incest, adultery, and other sexual deviances are on the decline, I would be open to that information.
(Part 1) Do you believe contraception, homosexuality, bestiality, and other sexual perversions are a good thing?
Is anything objectively wrong with anything?
(Part 2) Or are you merely suggesting there is no link between the acceptance of contraception and certain sexual deviances?
KarenNC, you never gave me an answer to the following post. I spent considerable time dealing with your inquiry, but I never got a reply.
