See I said that I would get some remarks about what I said and you were the first. Congratulations.

His brothers and sisters did not believe he was who he said he was. When he said this is your mother he was saying she is the mother of us all and when he said this is your son it meant that we are all children of her, spiritually not physically.

We all can forgive someone who has sinned against us.

When Jesus took the bread and gave thanks he broke the bread and said “this is my body, do this in REMEMBERANCE of me. Then he took the cup again he gave thanks and said " this is my blood, do this in REMEMBERANCE of me.” Will you leave me too, means will you leave what I have taught you when I’m gone or will you continue my teachings when I’m gone. Not will you leave the church that has not yet been formed.

Jesus also said the the Holy Spirit will be with all who believe and that he will not lead us astray.
1.- Mary IS a Virgin. Jesus had no brothers and sisters.

2.- No, he literally meant what He said about eating His flesh and drinking His blood. A few left and then he turned to the others and asked them if they would leave, too.

I think “Rev” Kevin has learned the art of twisting scripture to fit his model, like all good Protestants they have to fit the bible to their beliefs. And when the figure out how to explain this they must defend it like a man who defends his president in charge of janitorial services of the corporation. They think they’re in charge. Kind of a gruff analogy but in essence that’s what’s really happening. I’m not twisting anything to fit my model of beliefs. I Don’t see where Mary did not have other children and the Jesus did not have brothers and sisters. The CC twisted it to fit the model of what they want to believe.

Did you know that Protestant deacons are usually in charge of taking care of church grounds and building services? My wife teases me all the time now that we’re Catholic because I’m working towards the diaconate. And there is something wrong with someone doing something for their church? It saves spending money on a service to do it and by saving my church is debt free. We paid off our church that is worth 2 million in 5 years because of the good people and the savings.

Kevin, might I suggest you write a letter to the Catholic bishop from your diocese where you received the sacraments and request that you be released from the Church. And if you’re certain you are against the Catholic Church’s teachings, why not enter into RCIA as an observer to see what is taught. I also highly recommend asking the really hard questions. Do not be shy about it. All we ask is that you be respectful as if in a classroom, which it is.
Don’t need to I went to seminary to be a priest and that is where I found that I really didn’t believe in what was being taught. It made no sense to me. Now I have wrote several times and got no reply so I did my part the failed to do theirs.

The fault is yours, not the Church’s. Your reasoning for leaving the Church does not surprise me. It is all about you. Whatever happened to humble submission to those in legitimate authority? What ever happened to the idea that you could actually be wrong?

1.- Mary IS a Virgin. Jesus had no brothers and sisters.Thats because the CC told you that she is and Jesus had on brothers and sisters, but the proof isn’t there.

2.- No, he literally meant what He said about eating His flesh and drinking His blood. A few left and then he turned to the others and asked them if they would leave, too.
Where does he say this is literally my body and blood. To think its his real body and blood means you are eating flesh of a man which is canableism and not condoned.

It is illogical to assume otherwise.

Its not all about me. Would you rather have a priest that don’t agree with the teachings or one that does? So I’'m you want me to have humble submission to those in legitimate authorty,
My submission is to one person and that is God not any man that thinks he has the only authority.
How is it my fault that the CC failed to respond? Don’t put the blaim on me for something they failed to do. I did what I was to do.

So now you reject the trinity?🤷

Oh, it’s much worse than that, since we are not consuming dead flesh, as the cannibals to, but the living Body and Blood Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, Glorified. 😃

Show me where Jesus said he is starting the CC.
In today’s Gospel reading from John 20, we see that Jesus set up Peter to be the chief shepherd of His Church. “Feed my sheep” - the “sheep” are us; the “food” is Holy Eucharist.

Compare this information to the historical account of Christianity through the ages; you will see that St. Peter stands at the head of only one list of Shepherds who consider it intrinsic to their mandate from Christ to give the Holy Eucharist to believers, and that is the list of the Popes of the Catholic Church that is headed by the Diocese of Rome. 🙂

Of course you are, Kevin. No one who knows what the bible actually says could ever reject Baptism as necessary for salvation rather than the prayer from you heart as the way to salvation. No one can honestly say that works are not necessary and the it is faith only. The CC says it’s Grace, and all of the rest is part of how grace works…briefly stated “in a nut shell”. I also went to the seminary and know what crazy things went on in there. I saw horrible things. Protestants chase off those that don’t walk a straight line. The Catholic Church used to do these things. But it stopped at one point and takes a much more pastoral role in trying to prevent losing folks. I missed this and realized it many times on my journey in a Protestant faith.

Where does your bible come from…“Martin Luther”. Who determined the canon of scripture and why? Why would you leave weekly communion even for a group that calls themselves bible Christians? They aren’t bible Christians because if they were they accept baptism as necessary for salvation. Divorce would not be accepted. Women would not have any leadership roles…definitely not singing solo during worship. Elders would be in charge and appoint deacons and preachers. and a few other things I could possibly come up with if I took more time. You also believe that you could lose your salvation if you fell away. Unless your part of some very different strain of Baptist, which the name alone should cause you to shake in your boots because its not a bible name, then I don’t get it. I never let go of many of the beliefs I held because they continued to be part of my faith in the churches of Christ. No offense but we laughed at Baptist who believed they were bible only. I never got into a discussion with a Baptist that didn’t end up with me laughing inside at their misguided beliefs. I call it “black lining”…they scratch threw what they don’t want to discuss or preach. It was later that I realized my faith did the same thing in other areas, like the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist.

Because Paul clarifies that what is being remembered is the sacrificial DEATH of Christ. He is NOT saying that the bread and wine are mere symbols and that Christ is not present. And I see that Christ is substantially present based on other passages of Scripture. For example, Paul states:

1 Corinthians 10:16

**16Is not the cup of blessing **which we bless a sharing in the blood of Christ? Is not the bread which we break a sharing in the body of Christ?

And also John 6 makes it clear as well:

God Bless,
Michael
Thats right he clarifies what’s beingremembered 1 Cor.10:16-18 “When we bless the cup at the Lord’s table, aren’t we sharing in the benefits of the blood of Christ? And when we break the loaf of bread, aren’t we sharing in the benefits of the body of Chrisit? Ane we all eat from one loaf, showing that we are one body. And think about the nation of Israel; all who eat the sacrifices are united by the act.”
I don’t see anything about it being the literal body of Christ. I see the words benefits of, and we are one body, and the act. But I don’t see it being his literal body and blood. It just don’t say that.
I assume you are talking about John 6:22-40 which does not say that you are eating his literal body.

Oh, it’s much worse than that, since we are not consuming dead flesh, as the cannibals to, but the living Body and Blood Soul and Divinity of Jesus Christ, Glorified. 😃
👍

Don’t black line through this. I dare you. If you are a preacher, have your congregation pre-read this and tell them what Catholics believe and turn around and refute it using the actual text. There is no legitimate way to deny that this is not the case. We skimmed over these passages and I never caught it. I always wondered if it really was supposed to be the real body and blood of Christ every Sunday, since we have weekly communion services, required. It was one of many things that had been driving me crazy to the point or realizing what Christ really meant. He meant exactly what he said.

Then tell me the why its logical.
In John 6, there is no reason to assume that Jesus is speaking figuratively. Even when some of his followers question this teaching, what is His response? He did not say “This is what I really mean” He said “My flesh is true food and my blood is true drink” Even when He says we are to eat His flesh, the Greek indicates a very visceral image. What does He say to Peter? He does not explain to Peter, James and John the imagery of his metaphor? NO! He says “Will you also leave me?” If this was a metaphor, Jesus would have explained it clearly, as the Lord’s Supper is CENTRAL to the Christian Faith.

Sorry, wrong answer. If you struggled with doctrines, that is reason for leaving the seminary, but NOT the Church. It is all about you. You reject the Scriptures. As a Baptist, you have to reject them. I know. I used to be one.

I was raised in a traditional Roman Catholic family, Italian, in fact, so very Roman indeed ; )

By the time I was 10 - 14, thereabouts, my fascination with other religions, books on fantasy, etc… led me to turn from the Catholic faith and take up the practice of Witchcraft/Paganism/Sorcery, however you want to phrase it… for my teenage years, I feel from the faith, practicing outwardly not to upset my parents, but not really believing, and in fact doing the opposite. I got into drugs, sex, basically, I did all the stuff you are not supposed to do… note: this is not permission to “expirement” down that route
Consequently, I suffered from mental health issues, suffered intellectually as well, to a degree.

By the time I reached my early 20’s, I was “agnostic”… my previous experience with sorcery essentially showed me that the people involved were all self-serving hypocrites (one of the reasons I felt justified in leaving the Catholic Faith)…

In college, I worked, and spent part of my spare time studying or meditating on the various faiths and religions out there trying to seek the “one true faith”… there were moments I would return to the RCC for a week or month and then just fall away…

Eventually, I found myself in the working adult world, trying to decide “what I wanted to do with the rest of my life, but having no real direction”… my decisions to pursue a career path in advertising had met with personal frustration, because I didn’t like the values of the people I encountered… in fact, I was beginning to understand the effect Sin had on culture and realized that of all the faiths in the world that I spent time systematically studying, Buddhism, Hindu, old mythology, old mystery religions, gnostic beliefs… the Abrahamic traditions might actually be right, logically speaking…

More careful research about Christianity, the different denominations, etc… eventually brought me to realize that the fullness of Christian Faith is within the Roman Tradition… yes, I realize that I was brought up Roman Catholic, but I tried to find every “reason” to follow any other tradition besides it…

Oddly enough, the preaching and witness of many Evangelical Protestants, Baptists, etc… their witness to faith in Christ inspired me to return to Christianity and pretty quickly to the RCC because of the problems I found with the Logic of Sola Fide and Sola Scriptura…

I could probably write a small book in 15+ years I was away… but am glad to be back and burning with zeal.

Where did my bible come form? Well according to the CC it came from them, so there is your answer.
I never said the things you are saying.Any one who believes and is Baptized will be saved which you will never loose but you can loose salvation and Baptism don’t guarentee salvation. Works + faith is necessary. Grace is a gift from God that we can accept or not. God’s gift of grace.
I don’t know for sure it the CC stoped the horrable things but I have my doubts that they did.
Why would I leave weekly communion, because I don’t believe its the real body of Christ.
Divorce is not accepted but lets be honest, divorce happens, even Joseph was going to divorce Mary.
Women not having leadership rolls, Mary the mother of Jesus does and the last time I read she was a woman. Where does it say a woman can’t sing solo?
The elders do but they also involve the whole congregation after all they are the ones who are going to hear the message from the pastor.
If you commit a mortal sin could you not loose your salvation? Where does it say salvation is guarenteed.
The trinity is not a name in the Bible but its used.
Laugh it up all you want it don’t hurt me none. But its not Christian like.

You didn’t answer the question. Would you rather have a priest that agreed with the CC teachings or a priest that did not? I didn’t say I’m struggling with doctrine, I don’t beleive in some of them. I did not say me leaving was the fault of the Church. I said they failed to respond to the letters I sent asking to leave the CC. Them not responding is not my fault its their fault.

You didn’t answer the question. Would you rather have a priest that agreed with the CC teachings or a priest that did not?
How about a priest who doesn’t think that whatever he believes is “obviously the truth,” simply because it happens to be in his mind, but takes the time to study and discern with an open mind, to discover that he doesn’t actually know everything, and that the 2,000 year old world-wide Church knows a few things that he doesn’t? 🤷
