Well, my friend, I don’t know if that is true or not but I’m glad to tell you that I’m a convert myself. After 27 years as a UMC minister my wife and I came home in 1999 to the Byzantine Catholic Church. I didn’t know Hunt but he has wonderful days ahead.Converts rock. They’re usually better catholics than us cradle types!

Would you be willing to post your conversion story on the Non-Catholic Christians forum, if you were comfortable doing so? Or have you already done so? It’d be interesting to see the transition and I’d love to hear your story. I’m a former Methodist layman myself and entered into the Roman Church last year, but hope to translate to the Maronite Church in a year or so.Well, my friend, I don’t know if that is true or not but I’m glad to tell you that I’m a convert myself. I’d be glad too but just a question, why in the Non-Catholic forum? When I’ve more time I’ll post it.Would you be willing to post your conversion story on the Non-Catholic Christians forum, if you were comfortable doing so? Or have you already done so? On listening to his latest show from the 2nd of March, he talks about switching faiths and goes into a little bit about his conversion. Not too much, though. He says he’s not ready to go into complete detail, yet because it’s too personal. I hope to hear his full story soon.

I thought that was the forum that had the most traffic, and there a few Methodist clergymen that post there. It might plant some seeds, inshallah (God willing).I’d be glad too but just a question, why in the Non-Catholic forum? When I’ve more time I’ll post it.

Yep, and just like Martin Luther, he left and got married. In fact, he left for the purpose of getting married. He must have weighed that against 2000 year old doctrines chose sex.Check this out:

jFormer RC priest in Ireland converts to the Anglican Church of Ireland and is now Dean of Christ Church in Dublin.
It’s normal for most men to desire marriage.Yep, and just like Martin Luther, he left and got married. In fact, he left for the purpose of getting married. He must have weighed that against 2000 year old doctrines chose sex.
So much for vows.
Waste of time. Post it on a Protestant forum–if you dare!Makes sense.

The comparison I was making in this particular case, was that the priest, who can confect the Eucharist, left for desires of the fleshIt’s normal for most men to desire marriage.
Thousands of RC priests have left the RC church for the same reason.
I find it cannibalistic. The comparison I was making in this particular case, was that the priest, who can confect the Eucharist, left for desires of the flesh
The Minister who had his earthly “normal desires”, as you say, left for desires of the Eucharist - the Body and Blood of the Savior.
how awesome is that…
That is nothing new. You are not alone. We see those similar thoughts began right after Christ said (swore an oath) four times that it was His flesh we would eat. Many walked away… and He allowed for that.I find it cannibalistic.
More that this. The ancient pagans and atheists of the first three centuries accused the Christians of cannibalism. Are those who accuse us of this today any different than the accusers and persecuters of long ago? That is nothing new. You are not alone. Further we know that just like at the OT Passover, and clearly at the first Passover, you had to eat the Lamb.
