Shoshona commented on the negative thread about the United States that people here seem down on Canada. Well, I for one love Canada! Actually, I’m a little jealous that they have such a cool country. I really wouldn’t mind being Canadian.

Cool things about Canada:

1)Awesome scenery. Endless forests. Incredible mountains.

2)Prettier money. Multicolored like the rest of the world!
  1. Cool accent. They talk so clearly.
  2. People generally better mannered and more civil.
  3. Lots of Indian restaurants!
  4. Whistler
  5. I love the North! Crisp climate!
  6. Farley Mowat
  7. Less crowded.
  8. They don’t have to be a superpower and throw their weight around but glean all the benefits.
  9. Lots of Eskimos. The Inuit are the coolest people. Read Farley Mowat for more details…
  10. They call public restrooms washrooms. Sure sounds nice and better than what they call them in UK!

Hey Dove,

Do you know you were mentioned in a song during the early sixties by Johnny Preston, who was a protogee of the Big Bopper?

So, how is Running Bear these days? I didn’t know you guys survived the river!

I loved the song by the way, really.

If anyone here remembers this song, they must be as old as me!!

Just to add to WhiteDove’s list (so you don’t think I feel these are the only positives.🙂 ):

Tim Horton’s - a doughnut with your sandwich at lunch!:bounce: (me afterwards)

Hockey, Hockey, Hockey.

No Doot Aboot It!

Cool is right! Everthing’s cool overhere. In fact this morning, it’s -15C where I live.

Yes, I think Canadians are more polite. One time in New York, a cabdriver said to me, “Did you say, ‘Please’? You must be Canadian!”

But the best thing about Canada is that our elections are not on a schedule. They can come any time the government decides. So, unlike the US, we are not in continual election mode. Campaigns cannot last more than 30 days! Now, ain’t THAT cool?

Verbum

William Shatner, Captain Kirk!! :rotfl:
I got a wicked hat in Sherbrooke.,Quebec. By the way, the folks there were extremely pleasent.

Curling!

Also, Canadians are so friendly. I loved all the cannucks that I went to college with.

I like hockey, Toronto, Montreal and Quebec City, but the coolest thing about Canada is that it gets the protection of US military umbrella without having to spend a dime for it.

Hm well no one has mentioned the actual ‘coolness’ of Canada yet. It does get rather chilly here around this time of year.

They have some really nice people there and Shoshana is one of the nicest I know.

Very beautiful country.

Well the cold isn’t so bad really. You can always add more layers of clothes to keep you warm. I just really dislike how humid summer can get. You can only take off so much…

Oratory of St. Joseph in Montreal. . .
I take it you have been already? How was it? I want to visit myself.

They have a really good home decorating show…with Peter Fallico called Homes to go. good show 👍

I love those little butter and raisin tarts from the Saputo bakeries!(Quebec area)

They have the better side of Niagara Falls and the fishing is great. Some of my relatives up there are cool and a couple of the female cousins are just hot.
