Not really stupid.

If a large family, or even a small one, is confined to their home for two or more weeks and won’t be able to get out and shop, I can see the need for stocking up on basic essentials like TP. If they run out and can’t get anymore, it can be a real problem.

Could be that some of the kids or adults have medical conditions that require the use of a lot of bath tissue.

It’s better to have more of that kind of thing than one needs than to not have enough. Sooner or later, it all get used up. Sometimes, sooner than one may expect, especially in unpredictable situations.

that’s what I am having the hardest time with so far, illness seems to bring out the worst in a lot of people, I am sure there is much kindness as well, jut sadly not what I have been able to witness, it’s ddifficult, trying to balance helping those in need and the risk of spreading disease

I went through two hurricanes as a child in Florida. I remember being without electric for days …repairs were quite slow in the late 50’s early 60’s! We lost so much food. And now (not back then) many people are on oxygen or other needs for electricity? It really is scary to lose electricity, even when it’s only a few hours…why, I might have to do without Netflix! 😱

This is a joke a checker at Costco told my husband today” If the next viral outbreak causes severe diaherria, stores will run out of Nasacort”
I was a bit slow on the uptake but I finally got it😁

I went shopping for the first time in a week, and it does indeed look like a plague struck my area… Shelves that would normally carry toilet paper, prepackaged meat, microwaved meals, bread, etc. are barren, some people are wandering around the supermarket with latex gloves and masks, hearing someone cough is far more alarming now, many older folk are genuinely afraid of dying, and there’s a sense of gloominess in the air accompanying the constant conversations about COVID-19. Things grew very hysterical very quickly once a confirmed positive case was found in my state.
I got my hair cut today. Then I read Governor Wolf wants to close all nonessential businesses for two weeks. I guess I timed that perfectly.
Funny, so did I today… I get a trim every two weeks (crew cut), so that decision wouldn’t bother me in that respect.

A week ago I could still find extras of everything I needed and wanted at the grocery store. Today it’s a war zone. All Masses are suspended. I don’t expect to attend Easter Mass. All schools are closed indefinitely. My guess is that K-12 schools, universities, and colleges all will end their school year/semester in the next few weeks. Restaurants and bars are closed at 8pm. The streets are emptied and the city is a ghost town. I’m not trying to be bleak here – just noting how exceptionally fast changes are coming.

Just a matter of time before we have a national quarantine,my guess next week

Some of that has started here in local stores, limiting certain items to a soecific number per customer .

It’s happening here, too. I can only imagine it will be nationwide soon, if not mandated by the gov’t.

We have a whole house generator that we installed a few years ago. With our high water table, our basement would flood if we lost electricity.

❤️❤️❤️
Extra hearts for the laugh…and probably true! I’m telling that one to hubby!

Apparently vomiting and diarrhea have been reported, though not the most common symptoms …
https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/children-faq.html
"Q: Are the symptoms of COVID-19 different in children than in adults?

A: No. The symptoms of COVID-19 are similar in children and adults. However, children with confirmed COVID-19 have generally presented with mild symptoms. Reported symptoms in children include cold-like symptoms, such as fever, runny nose, and cough. Vomiting and diarrhea have also been reported. It’s not known yet whether some children may be at higher risk for severe illness, for example, children with underlying medical conditions and special healthcare needs. There is much more to be learned about how the disease impacts children.**

I think the only thing that will make a difference is whether we act more economically or more socially. A better balancing of the two is more prudent now than ever.

Wondering how many people will emerge in four months with Snow White hair

…and then the power goes out! 😅😅😅
Mine did the other day! I called and said they better get it back on quick because I had just stocked my freezer and fridge for the coronavirus scare. We had been told it was could be up to 2 hours! Luckily, it came back on in 15 minutes. We were informed
it was shut off for a maintenance check. The next day we received an e-mail stating the power company would not be shutting off power for maintenance checks during this pandemic event we are going through.

I called in at the supermarket today… not been for several days. It’s got worse… all the shelves are really empty. Last time I went it was the basics like TP, hand sanitiser etc. but now it’s all canned tomatoes and passata, pastas, canned beans, most types of bread, eggs. The only good thing is that it seems people around here aren’t fruit and veg lovers because there were plenty of those, thankfully 🙂

That’s weird because everything is the same as it was last month where I live; children going to school, people going to work, people in pubs and coffee shops even though the PM told people best not to, people shopping, same amount of people in the high street, nobody panic buying.
