Cosmic rays blamed for global warming

Man-made climate change may be happening at a far slower rate than has been claimed, according to controversial new research.
Scientists say that cosmic rays from outer space play a far greater role in changing the Earth’s climate than global warming experts previously thought.
In a book, to be published this week, they claim that fluctuations in the number of cosmic rays hitting the atmosphere directly alter the amount of cloud covering the planet.

Thank you for posting this article. The great thing about the internet is the ease of exchanging information. The more evidence distributed from skeptical scientists the more likely we are to avoid a financial catastrophe by trying to fix something that isn’t broken. At the very least the presentation of information from both sides will make the debate more factual and less political.

Hi all,

I’m delighted this issue has been raised.
There is so much information out there that has not been discussed enough.
While I accept the fact that human activity has to have some impact on the earth, I certainly do not accept the fact that climate change is 100% man made. Or even 50% for that matter.

The link between earths temperature and solar activity is not publicised enough.

Around the time Charles Dickens was writing his books, the Thames froze over with thick ice in London in winter time.
This doesn’t happen today, so whats changed?? What was happening then thats not happening now??
The question should be…“What *wasn’t *happening then that is happening now”?
Sunspots. During that time, there were no sunspots for about 11 years.
Now, we live in a time of vigorous solar activity.
I’m so tired of hearing that the polar ice caps are melting, and it’s all mankinds fault.
I really don’t belive it’s mankinds fault.
The ice caps are also melting on Mars.
How is mankind affecting the Martian environment??

I’m no expert on this matter, and I stand to be corrected, but lets have an honest debate.
We live in a time where entire populations are been dictated to by scientists, with no real information and no debate at a level the population can understand, because I sure cant understand how they are reaching their conclusions, and how the economies of many nations are at risk, for the sake of mere theories???
I hope to be educated on this matter here. Any experts on this issue in the forums??
Thanks.
