When you receive the Body of Christ, and then walk past the minister with the BLood, be sure make a slight bow, in reverence to the Blood, and keep walking to your seat. It’s fine, Just don’t forget to reverence the cup as you pass.
Be at peace.

If you know this happens to you; then just consume a small sip only.

Absolutely, so many people do not do this sign of reverence to the Precious Blood.

The wine used for consecration can come from anywhere. Our parish buys ours at the local grocery store. The only real requirement is that it be 100% grape wine.

Even with the strongest of wine can be tolerated with a tiny sip. However I do like a wide variety of wines so sipping the Precious Blood isn’t difficult for me.

To all who fire off flippant and condescending replies of, “If you know it
bothers you, only take a sip”. No kidding. Please bother reading the entire
topic.

Responders have not been flippant or condescending in their responses. They are only giving prudent suggestions. Again, if you know you can not tolerate the Precious Blood than refrain from consuming. It’s the same action done by those intolerant of gluten. If there is no low gluten host available, & Precious Blood is available, receive the Precious Blood. If it is because of your particular Rite, then discuss this with the Priest. If anything, you appear to be the condescending one. I will pray for you & your situation.

It happens to me sometimes. It’s pretty strong, and I’m not used to wine. I feel embarrassed, and people stare at me. Anyone else do this?
If you’re really concerned, consider receiving under one species.

Looks like we’ve all given the OP our advice, so maybe that’s all we need to say?

I wonder if your severe coughing after drinking the wine is a sulphur sensitivity. Sulphur sensitivity for the majority would not normally produce the severe life-threatening reactions seen in anaphylaxis. It still causes discomfort.

KNOW DEAR FREIND THAT THERE IS NO OBLIGATION TO RECEIVE UNDER BOTH SPECIES

THE ENTIRE JESUS CHRIST IS AVAILABLE IN BOTH SPECIES ALONE; in HIs BODY, BLOOD, SOUL AND DIVINITY.

I RECOMMEND YOU HOLY RECEIVE UNDER THE FORM OF THE CONSECRATED HOST ONLY; YOU LOOSE NO GRACES IN DOING SO

GOD BLESS YOU,
PATRICK
