Recall that Vatican I said that it was wrong to say “Church and state” should be separate- since there is only one Truth, and only one correct system of right and wrong- taught by the Church, and applying equally to matters of the state.
But Doesn’t Vatican ii state that each should be free to seek out truth. And that governments should uphold moral law? The inquisitions, crusades, etc was one of the results of church and state together.

Well- public hospitals, schools and universities were also originally the result of the Church and state being united (way back in the Middle Ages).

Yes, everyone is free to seek truth.

Since Christian morality offers freedom, it will actually make people more free to live in a Christian state. And since God is the only Truth, it will be better for everyone!!

Some kind of communistic, Christian theocracy, would be good.

Of course not. I was just wondering if we should support -]progression/-] *progressivism *as it could be God working society to a happier state,
What do you think is the definition of happier as used by progressive students?
but I am confused
I mean this kindly: yes, you are. And it is great that you recognize that 🙂 The first step to wisdom…
because God fully revealed himself in Christ and left the church as the complete revelation of how to get to him. In the church, abortion and no fault divorce are wrong. But in order for us to get to God we need to still progress, by adhering and learning the church’s teaching.
Here you use the word progress in one way: we progress *in holiness *to get to God.

Is holiness the direction the students in your school want to progress?
However many people today assume that the church is outdated and our lives are getting better.
Here you use the word better: what do the progressive students in your school mean by better?

If God provides, through His Church, what man in his human nature needs, how can someone say the Church is outdated?

If people’s lives are getting better, then is God progressing people to him, even if they are wrong on such areas as abortion?
If God is all-good, and abortion is evil, how can He use the acceptance of abortion to progress people toward Him?
People need may have a desire to progress to a utopian society, when in reality maybe that desire they actually want is God but they don’t know it yet
Now this is something you are not confused about 🙂

Where have you seen communism succeed with religion, especially?

Under communism, religious freedom is the first freedom to go. Well, the state is considered paramount, and religion is considered a threat to the state which must be eliminated at all costs.

As to people working without any incentive, why would the average person do that? I can’t see it working, realistically.
In Russia these ideas are getting popular among orthodox christians 😃
