You’re kidding about that, aren’t you??Is Jack Chick right in what he states about the Catholic Church (and other churches)?
Is it at all possible that he is right?
Methinks you are being too charitable. This sound just like Jack Chick, and is as ignorant as Jack
If we don’t need a teacher, then we don’t need you to be our teacher, either. Right? You are sorely mistaken. The reason for the different text size is that THE TRUTH (see?) often needs a little HELP coming from the mouths (or keyboards) of its keepers as it cannot stand on its own.
:tsktsk:
NObody here is trying to be your teacher…some are just trying to tell you to look directly AT your teacher and talk to him who has been waiting for you while you have been so busy talking to your friends. If we don’t need a teacher, then we don’t need you to be our teacher, either. Right?
Or is it only the one whom God has appointed (the Pope) who is not allowed to be our teacher, but everyone else can come along and teach us, just as long as they don’t claim to be infallible. And we have to believe them - because - they didn’t claim to be infallible - which means that they are being honest with us - maybe …![]()

You could have fooled me. It really seems as if there are a lot of non-Catholics here trying to “teach” us stuff.NObody here is trying to be your teacher.
OH, you just said that to the wrong person - you have no idea who I am, do you?…some are just trying to tell you to look directly AT your teacher and talk to him who has been waiting for you while you have been so busy talking to your friends.
Ralph, ALL you need is the Spirit.MOsacked,
PLease show me where the Bible says that ALL you need is the Bible
Of the thousands who came out from Egypt, how many spoke with God? ONE - Moses.Tell me Moslacked:
If Christians don’t need a teacher, then why are there thousands of protestants denominations that teach conflicting contradictory doctrines? If, as you said in the other thread, God communicates directly to disciples, then why all the doctrinal chaos among you guys? Is the Father asleep at the wheel? Did the Holy Spirit take a 500-year vacation? Whats up with that?
That says that the Spirit will lead, nothing about Scriptures. Please try again. Where does it say that all you need is the Bible?Ralph, ALL you need is the Spirit.
John 14:26 But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit & the Father will send Him in My Name & will teach you all things and remind you of everything I have told you.
- It is the Spirit that bears witness.
.
PLease provide some support for your claim. He is wrong about Catholic teachings and much History. Please show how when he is rightJack Chick is right.![]()
This is very poor exegesis on your part Mosacked. When you read the verse in context it is clearly not indicationg that Christians “do not need anyone to teach them”, as you seem to be claiming. John was comparing the believers to the man who does not believe that Jesus was the Christ. He tells them that they do not need anyone to teach them this truth, because they already knew it. You seem to interpret through eisegesis at the expense of proper exegesis. :crying:Thanks for the reply Ralphinal,
The reason why we cannot proceed further is because…
1 - History <> Bible. To many, if its not in the Bible, its not worth pursuing.
2 - Role <> Office. I can be managing an office, but I’m not the manager but only a clerk.
3 - Someone has to be…is itself an assumption.
4 - No punishment for not doing <> Alright to expect/ask for it to be performed.
5 - Tradition never dictates religion, if it does God would have to don sunglasses.
6 - Succession does not exist when appointment itself cannot be proven to have started.
(<> means not equal to)
There are just too many ASSUMPTIONS and too much reliance on History and/or tradition.
When we read the Bible, it seems to tell us that we need ONLY God.
1 John 2:27 The anointing you received from Him remains in you, and you don’t need anyone to teach you. Instead, His anointing teaches you about all things, and is true and is not a lie; just as it has taught you, remain in Him.

About everything? Hmmm…Jack Chick is right.![]()
He/she is a “FundieBaptist” which means they believe everything Jack Chick has said. Most certainly this may be one person who has put a “tract” in Bathroom stalls in the hopes that someone has read at least the summary “Roman’s Road” aspect of it at the end of the Tract. I would even go so far as to say this person is probably a pre-trib rapture believer who believes that the Pope is either the Anti-Christ or at the very least the False Prophet and that the church is the “Whore of Babylon” though its poor exegesis for someone to interpret that Chapter of Revelation that way. Especially in this modern Age when the Papacy is only in control of one hill of Rome called the Vatican. But what can you expect from a person who takes “scripture alone” which they only understand those same passages as their particular cut of Baptist do.About everything? Hmmm…
