Could Jack Chick be Right???

From where I sit it says that Jesus Christ is our crown of joy and glory. Nothing about a “soul winners” award here; Is this your interpretation of scripture? or something your Church teaches?

I had a Jesuit spiritual director one summer. Apparently, the plot to control the world involves something to do with playing soft hymns on the guitar and saying kind things to people. :love:

Hey I gave you the link you asked…You don’t have to believe the things…I do my best to live with my heart and motives pure before the Lord…I look forward to heaven…I know God will show honors to alot up there…I think Billy Graham will be honored for his soul winning…Something I guess we’ll learn when we get there…I guess if He can use David and his sins he can use Jack Chick…His ways and thoughts are way higher than ours…He that wins souls is wise…peace to you…may the Lord guide and bless you as you move closer to Him in being a fragrance of Christ to those around you…

2Cor. 2:15 For we are a fragrance of Christ, grateful to God, in those whom He is saving and in those who are perishing…

"Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing"2 Timothy 4:8
Hey if you think they are metaphors, that’s fine with me…Does your catachism say anything about crowns/rewards…Hey I don’t base my walk on them, I just look fwd to all Christ has in heaven…

As a Catholic Christian I believe all that the Church teaches concerning the scriptures. but “soul winner “ crowns are not found in them, nor is it taught by the Church so why should I believe it? I did follow your link and read some of the dogma there, but it did not show who authored it nor did it quote any scripture that talked about “soul winning “crowns.
It’s interesting how some folks can take the statement “crown of righteousness” literally , and yet maintain that when Jesus said: “Truthfully, truthfully I tell you unless you eat my flesh and drink my blood the life is not in you.” he was speaking metaphorically ….amazing!

Be back later …we have a thatnksgiving outreack meal for the community…My wife helps serve…I just pray because of my heaalth condiition…

Hey always remember not all prots are in the same bag…I believe in His presence in the communion, not everybody who does goes for the trans and con explanation…I accept it by faith…We have a spiritual walk in faith it doesn’t depend on what the eye sees or the taste buds taste …Guess you see I’m back…Our church has a food bank…Some of our church uses it along with people of the community…We have a Thanksgiving dinner for our church and those who come to the food bank… I sat in a nice padded chair in back of the gravy server and prayed for those in the line…Hey would you mind looking in your catahchism and see what they say about rewards and crowns…Thanks God Bless…Kim

To be honest with you…I didn’t take him as the gospel but used some of his booklets that were just scripture…I did find that people more more readily accept the cartoon format…You know whether people believe it or not He’s still there…He’s not meant to be sensed by out taste buds…

You are right in that not all protestants believe the same things. We are all Christians here (I think). I’m happy that your church has a food bank and other programs for the needy. It’s not black and white - like all Catholics are “good” and all Protestants are “bad” or vice versa.

I was referring to some of the authors of the unfunny parodies of Jack Chick’s tracts because their websites contain ads which show pornography. And I think that some of these same people would grab any opportunity to mock Christianity (and Catholicism in particular) because they are hateful people who mock just about anything holy.

I didn’t mean anyone here.

Unless someone here is the author of one of the parodies I was mentioning…hmm…
