OK now, this is going back to my question about whether the ends justify the means.

Hiskid, do you believe that everything Jack Chick has written about the Catholic Church is true?

I don’t know what all he wrote or if it is all true or not…I do know that God can work through it all…The Holy Spirit moves through the word received by the reader…I guess the whole thing is, is I am not looking at it through your church’s/your eyes…I’ve used other tracts in the past and stuck with the one that worked the best for me…I guess I don’t focus on the writer but the message…peace to you…K

I understand that you aren’t looking through it through my eyes and/or the Catholic Church’s eyes. Would you please let me know which tracts you have used to spread the word of God? I’m especially interested in which one worked best for you. Thanks!

This was your life…I’ve used various authors/types over the years…Was the one I received and the one I used…I found the cartoon format was better received…I just get it out there, the Holy Spirit does the work…

Whether Jack Chick is right or not, we will all know on judgement day. So, until then, keep searching, and stop judging him with mere opinions.

Here is a little secret for all of you. DId you know that the KKK considers itself to be a Christian organization? No wonder people think Chick is just fine like he is

Well, we could say the same thing about Jack Chick or anyones else that judges us with their opinions. Remember that your view of scripture is your opinion.

Honestly Jack Chick has said many things. Some things are correct. Some are totally incorrect. The question is how many people has he lead to faith and how many Catholics have become scared of their own beliefs? Is it ok to be truthful on one hand and not on another? He obvioulsy has good intentions and isn’t being purposely deceptive. However, is that enough?

When I started this thread I didn’t know a lot about Jack Chick - I’d seen the tracts and had read a few and I didn’t like them and I wondered why this “Jack Chick” was printing tracts that had so many errors. I like to think the best of people so I was very confused. What was going on? Now, I think that he is aware of the errors. They have been pointed out to him ad nauseum. The teachings of the Catholic Church are so easy to find. They are right there in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. They can be googled and binged. They are there and yet Jack Chick continues on. He is either doing this intentionally or he is the most stupid person in the entire world and has been duped. IMO it is the former.

Awhile ago I asked if it would be OK to use Jack Chick tracts if they brought a person to God. Several people answered; most said “no”; one said that if a person finds a tract and checks it out and finds God, God is found “in spite” of the tract. One person has replied in a somewhat vague way.

Do the ends really justify the means?

This morning I was talking to a friend and she asked me if the Eighth Commandment has an asterisk at the end. This is what she meant:

*"Thou shall not bear false witness against thy neighbor

except when you are trying to bring him/her to God."*

There is something wrong there. As far as I know, the Eighth Commandment does not have an asterisk at the end and even if it did or does it certainly does not refer us to “except when you are trying to being him/her to God.”

It can’t be justified. Errors are errors. LIES ARE LIES. TRUTH IS TRUTH IS TRUTH.

Faith is a hard thing to hold onto, at least for me. People tend to believe what they read, even if it’s on a subconscious level. IMO Jack Chick has done an enormous amount of damage. He lies. He picks and chooses scripture. He calls the Catholic Church “the Whore.” This is the Church that was founded by Jesus Christ Himself!!

When Jack Chick prints, publishes, and distributes his tracts he is insulting me, other Catholics, other Christians, and every other person in the world who is attempting to discover the Truth.

He is also insulting Jesus Christ. **HE IS INSULTING GOD!! **

I have tried to post this three times. Each time it gets deleted. I’m going to keep trying until it works.

I am not judging Jack Chick. That is not my place. I am judging his actions.

I hope that he stops doing what he is doing. All of us will face God on Judgment Day. I am afraid for Jack Chick’s soul.

If he does not stop printing, publishing, and distributing tracts which contain such blatant errors, I’m afraid for him. I’m afraid that he is going to end up exactly where he says Catholics are going.
 
I get what you are saying. However, if he’s paranoid that everyone that is speaking out against his errors has been discieved by the Jesuits he most likely doesn’t believe them. Yes and he shouldn’t bare false witness. Insulting God? I’m not certain I buy that.

That is weird. I know they do. They use the hymn “Amazing Grace” as a type of theme song. I was debating on another forum once and when I posted that “Amazing Grace” was being used by the KKK someone replied by asking how I knew that. I ignored him because I didn’t have time then to respond to what I considered a silly question. But he really wanted to know. Later on he posted that I was a member of the KKK and that’s the only reason I would know such a thing.

I think he was surprised when I posted that I had watched a PBS documentary.

Yeah, Catholics belong to the KKK which, I suppose was founded by the Jesuits under authority of the “black pope” and the Pope. Uh, right, yup, that surely does make sense. How else can we explain why the Catholic Church is a target of the KKK? I guess we must be masochists or something like that.

The only more ridiculous claims I can think of is that blacks founded the KKK because they enjoyed being lynched or J.C. Penney founded the KKK in order to sell more sheets and pillowcases…

Sambos, he calls Christ’s bride a whore. How can that not be insulting? I’m a woman and I would feel deeply insulted if someone called me a whore and I would hope that my husband would feel deeply insulted, too. It’s just not right.

Somehow I missed your post (I had some computer problems for awhile). It’s really good!! Thank you!!

What is that old saying, something like: “Oh what a tangled web we weave, when first we practice to deceive.”

Maybe at first he wasn’t aware of his errors and like you state, he reached the point of no return. Now he is building a very tangled web. He has trapped too many other people - actually even one would be too many, and now his web is so tangled he has trapped himself.

It’s a shame because some of his tracts are actually quite good.
