If the Holy spirit is not that is something that can be proved but only something that can be felt by a believer,
I understand your difficulty, you being a Muslim, with the Holy Spirit because you do not understand the Trinity. Christians understand that the Holy Spirit is God. You can only prove the Holy Spirit as much as you can prove God.
why do some converts become Muslim just by reading or listening to the Quran the first time?
There were some Muslims who convert to Christianity after reading the Bible. That does not say or prove anything.
You are trying to explain the Holy Spirit from people experience. In answering your question, there is a way to discern whether the inspiration is from the Holy Spirit or not. Basically and fundamentally, and not to confuse you, it is from the Holy Spirit if it does not contradict what has revealed before by God/Jesus.
I think the point I’m trying to get at is everyone has their own ‘holy spirit’ that guides them then?
The Holy Spirit is the third person in the Trinity and he is God. The
Holy Spirit is spirit and does not manifest in physical human body.
There are about
three types of spirits, namely, the Holy Spirit, the Evil spirit and the human spirit. Any of these can influence and guide a person. That is why it is important to discern what that guides you.
Mohammad did have that kind of experience when he received the Quran. You have to discern what spirit that was talking to him.
Going back to the Comforter as the Holy Spirit. The Comforter cannot be Mohammad as Jesus was speaking to his apostles and that it would come to them. Mohammad came long after the apostles were gone so that alone rule out that he was not the Comforter mentioned.
You can learn more about
the attributes of the Holy Spirit and why that attributes were spoken of by Jesus.

And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
He Helps Us in our Weakness:
**Romans 8:26
In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express.

He Searches the Deep Things of God:
**1 Corinthians 2:11
The Spirit searches all things, even the deep things of God. For who among men knows the thoughts of a man except the man’s spirit within him? In the same way no one knows the thoughts of God except the Spirit of God
**
He Sanctifies:
Romans 15:16
To be a minister of Christ Jesus to the Gentiles with the priestly duty of proclaiming the gospel of God, so that the Gentiles might become an offering acceptable to God, sanctified by the Holy Spirit.

He Forbids:
Acts 16:6-7
Paul and his companions traveled throughout the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been kept by the Holy Spirit from preaching the word in the province of Asia. When they came to the border of Mysia, they tried to enter Bithynia, but the Spirit of Jesus would not allow them to.
Some of these attributes will make you understand why Jesus called the Holy Spirit the Helper, the Comforter, the Advocate and the Counselor. In Roman 8:6, it tells us that there is such thing as human spirit as well.
