Yeah, I know that they don’t know what real football is, not even in Australia. Those poor folks have to watch soccer and try to find a way to be excited about it. It’s just pitiful.Melanie, did you know that in the rest of the world besides the US, soccer IS football.
Personally I like Rugby myself.
Perhaps, and maybe we have got it wrong and the whole rest of the world has it right?Yeah, I know that they don’t know what real football is, not even in Australia. Those poor folks have to watch soccer and try to find a way to be excited about it. It’s just pitiful.![]()
Naw, we’re right, everyone else is wrong, it’s the American Way!!Perhaps, and maybe we have got it wrong and the whole rest of the world has it right?
Whatever, I just find American football very boring, I have seen games where it took 45 minutes to play 5 minutes on the clock, too many time outs.and other delaying tactics…but I do have ADHD.
So my geometry teachers were prophets then?God Is Gracious,
OK. Here we go.
I assume you quoted him because you like what he said. He was teaching you, then, I would suppose. **A prophet was/is supposed to be a teacher of truth.

Your apostles do not meet the criteria for replacement as outlined in Mattias replacement of Judas. So it doesn’t seem evident that the LDS have ever been able to do that.Pickguard,
I am not aware that the office of “apostle” continued beyond the lifetimes of John and Paul in the original church Christ had established. I suppose that the twelve would have wanted to ordain new apostles just as Matthias was ordained to replace Judas, but it doesn’t seem evident that they were able to continue doing that beyond the time of Paul.
Who had the word first?? Just wondering.Melanie, did you know that in the rest of the world besides the US, soccer IS football.
Personally I like Rugby myself.
Never been to a polo match myself, I have rich “horsey snob” friends that are into show-jumping and dressage.Who had the word first?? Just wondering.
In order I like football, hockey, basketball, soccer, baseball/golf/tennis. I’ve never seen rugby but I have been to a polo match that was interesting even though I couldn’t follow it to save my life.
Yeah, I know that they don’t know what real football is, not even in Australia. **Clearly, you have never seen Australian rules football. Now there’s an exciting gameOr even better, when the Aussies play Irish Gaelic football players in a hybrid agreed rules series. ** Those poor folks have to watch soccer and try to find a way to be excited about it. But at least it qualifies as 'foot’ball, i.e. feet actually come in contact with the ball for most of the game. Unlike the inexplicably named American football.
Plus, soccer games are mercifully over in 90 minutes

Actually I have seen Australian rules football which is why I mentioned it. Better than soccer but …Clearly, you have never seen Australian rules football. Now there’s an exciting game Or even better, when the Aussies play Irish Gaelic football players in a hybrid agreed rules series.
Football includes a variety of kicks for both scoring as well as at other times, so the name of the game is not so inexplicable. But at least it qualifies as 'foot’ball, i.e. feet actually come in contact with the ball for most of the game. LOL! Nice. Parker D was being obtuse and, as he tends to do, sow doubt.ParkerD;5280878:

I was trying to sow thinking using sarcasm. Sarcasm often backfires, but I was also deflecting the criticism to myself, since I feel just fine about being criticized. On that score, if anyone wants to fire away, they can fire away at me, as has already happened.LOL! Nice. Parker D was being obtuse and, as he tends to do, sow doubt. Everyone saw through his tactic, however.
GREAT ARTICLE! I think all the LDS’s on this thread and everywhere should read it with an open mind, and with honesty. It’s truly enlighteningHere’s a link regarding a statement a well known Catholic Apologist has made about Joseph Smith and the theory of The Great Apostasy.
IN SEARCH OF “THE GREAT APOSTASY”

In closing, if God is truely what He claims to be, "The same yesterday, today and forever, then there’s no possible way that The Great Apostasy happened because He NEVER CHANGES so God wouldn’t have abandoned one group of people for another.
RUGBY! YAY! I love rugby, too! Too bad it’s not easily available to watch in the US. You have to pay through the nose for alternative sports channelsMelanie, did you know that in the rest of the world besides the US, soccer IS football.
Personally I like Rugby myself.
If you believed were true, what was the purpose of Mormonism at all? I don’t think you’re being entirely honest about your opinion here, or if you are, why don’t you convert to Catholicism - because you are right - the Church we belong to IS fine - the finest thing this side of heaven.P.S. Again, the church you belong to is fine.
Boy are you missing out! It puts soccer/baseball/American football/ hockey to shame. It’s like an 80 minute brawl. It’s probably the closest thing to the original Olympian melees.I’ve never seen rugby
Go for it, I have a friend who plays sled/sledge hockey he loves it.Never been to a polo match myself, I have rich “horsey snob” friends that are into show-jumping and dressage.
Dressage is really cool, they kind of make the horses dance. Show jumping I really enjoy watching as well.
I used to be into Rodeo, but now that I am crippled I can only watch any sport. I’m thinking about looking into wheelchair sports.
