Could the reason God says no to a lot of prayers be that he doesn’t exist?

Those of us who have tried to supply our own “answer” to a prayer can attest to the obvious difference between that and accepting God’s answer.

Besides, if you take the position that God says no because He doesn’t exist, then how do you account for all of the prayers to which He says Yes?

Is the rate of his answering yes to prayers similar to the rate at which positive outcomes naturally occur? Like let’s say with faith healings are the rates of people getting healed from prayer higher than the rates at which people can naturally heal from illnesses?
 
Might I ask if you can elaborate on that I’m not understanding?
 
But why is the answer almost always no in prayer but yes when I choose to make something happen?
 
Prayer isn’t subject to time. It isn’t like applying for a car loan, then waiting, then receiving the bank’s decision. A prayer you uttered 2 years ago may have set in motion events that would lead to an outcome you could never have imagined. This isn’t linear stuff. The “no” you perceive today may be setting you up for a future “yes”. Check out Romans 8:28

I would approach this question, that first you have to know God and from God’s perspective, not ours.

For God, our time on earth is but just a tiny fraction of eternity. For us, our concerns are immediate - food, finance, relationship, health but for God, He can see where these will bring us.

Like the BIble says, what good it is if one saves the body but not the soul?

So perhaps for us, the body needs consist of 99% of our needs, and sipirtual needs only 1%. For God, probably it is the opposite.

God always answers our prayers, just not always in the way we want 😉

If it seems He doesn’t answer, that just means that our request wasn’t in the best interest of our souls. Humans look at earthly things, God sees spiritual things.
 
He doesn’t seem to want to respond to my prayer about whether he exists or not and I don’t know why.
 
First of all, you are never going to get an exact total of prayers where God answered Yes or No.

Second of all, your whole premise of God somehow proving his existence by giving people what they ask for, like gum balls from a machine, is silly. God could have a very good reason for not granting requests. I know in my case He said “no” a few times and 20 years down the road I was glad.

If you want an actual relationship with God, you need to build one and not focus on these silly “proof” games.
 
Who knows- maybe by not giving you an answer now, it will help you later. Scripture says, “His ways out not our ways”.

I know it’s based in a place of fear in that I’m afraid to believe in something I can’t directly witness. I keep trying to just crack down and believe and maybe I need to stop asking questions again and just try.

I can only say, continue to search. God hates faithlessness but loves people who try with the little faith that they have.

You are on good starting ground - keep on searching. That’s a good prayer - it is not your fault that you do not feel God’s presence; it is just you.

One day, perhaps God will just zap you with His love. As for you, just do not give up - today and until the day you die.

Every day just say, “God, I want to know you better and feel less afraid. Help me, God, meet me halfway.” He will help you.

Picture him in the person of Jesus and address Him as Jesus if that helps. Many people feel better doing that because Jesus was a human, earthly man as well as being God, so Jesus is more relatable than some big God in the sky.
 
I think it is because most people either pray really badly or ask for things that are not really important.
