Could the reason God says no to a lot of prayers be that he doesn’t exist?

I understand your frustration. But maybe you are looking for the wrong things. God is usually very subtle. Don’t be so concrete, expecting divine interventions. When you sit and close your eyes, you are looking at what God has chosen to show you in any given moment. There is a Person beyond that darkness involved in every aspect of your life. Your prayers are products of your surface mind, not always aligned with your deeper needs…

I agree, too often you hear about people praying for things that benefit themselves only. It is better to pray for others who suffer more than you/have bigger problems. By helping others, God rewards us too.

Or you are just asking for the wrong things, if that is how seldom you get a yes. That or you don’t wait long enough for the yes. God’s time is not our time. I don’t find no is often the answer. The yes is not the kind of yes I expected but most of the time it’s yes or not yet or something much better. Oh and God exists of that I have no doubt, yes no or whatever the answer, even if there is no answer at all.

I know that some people argue that he does only what’s best for us and in his plan but could the reason for the 99 percent of the time the answer is no be simply he doesn’t exist and we are coming up with reasons as to why he does so we attribute it to his will instead of his non existance? What if the 1% when the answer is yes simply be what would normally naturally occur?
From my own personal experience. I remember so many of the things that I prayed for and asked God for in my youth. They were not answered there and then. Over the years most of what I prayed for was answered in one form or another, I just didn’t realize a lot of it at the time. Looking back now from a senior citizen perception, much of what I wanted was, in the end, superficial or superfluous, much of what I prayed for was answered in the affirmative, but not in the exact manner I wanted. And I have come to believe that everything I asked and prayed for, was answered. And much of that answer was that it really wasn’t that important. God gives us what we need, what we want, that’s Santa Claus’ job.
Shalom
