So you just assume that anyone who doesn’t like Ann Coulter also is a liberal, is pro-choice, voted for Obama…isn’t it possible that someone who holds the exact positions you do might find her personality grating and her humor insulting? I know more than a few very conservative folks who think Ann is NOT the best spokesperson for their cause.
You sure stretched that post into a something else.

Please read my posts before puting words in my mouth. It should be clear i am refering to people who are Obama supportes yet claim to be in line with Catholic Teachings. if you were around CAF during the run up to the elction you would know excatly what i am refering to.

Actually I wasnt refereing specifically to you-just what i see in CAF in general. The problem is after a Catholic publicly supports Obama it is hard for the rest of us to take their comments on moral questions very seriously.

Your comment above states that you were making a statement about what you see on CAF “in general”, which led me to conclude that you were applying that general observation to anyone on this thread who is not a fan of Ann Coulter. YOU made the leap from “don’t like Ann Coulter” to “obama supporters” and you continue to do it.

So you are a better judge of what i meant than i am? I feel like I am in one of those conversations with Protestants who fimly lecture us on what Catholics actually believe.

Methinks perhaps you fall into the group of people I was commenting on…

Of course you do-because it seems that in your opinion anyone who doesn’t agree with you 100% on everything goes into the “liberal, obama voter, pro choice” box.

I find that people are usually more than one dimensional and I try not to lump them into categories based on their opinion on one issue.

Coutler hit a nerve and it appears i did to! I think my obseravtions were right on target.

Hi guys,

How about a timeout? Everybody start from scratch.

It’s easy to get mixed up on these things. No big hairy deal.

It was the “pro-choice” people who invented the word “termination”. Then, a lot of Catholics thought it was OK to vote on politicians who supported “terminating” babies inside the womb, and even supported “terminating” babies outside the womb (see Obama’s opposition to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act of Illinois, from 2002 to 2005).

Then comes Ann Coulter, and calls out the pro-choice politicians and their supporters on their use of the word “termination”. A term that THEY invented, not Ann Coulter.

I say, Go Ann! Sure people are mad with you, because you exposed the hypocrisy of the position that “I’m personally against (murder) (abortion) (termination), but I don’t want to impose my morality on others, and I have no problem voting on politicians who stand for (murder) (abortion) (termination).” These are the people who have no problem with the “termination” of babies, only with Ann’s throwing back the term into their faces.

Go Ann! 👍
Important point: “pro-choice” people aren’t in favor of permitting the killing of BABIES; they’re going after mere “fetuses”. Undifferentiated tissue masses.

[Of course, we can’t go after the eggs of spotted owls … THOSE preborn owls are owls, not fetuses.]

Of course, some of the earliest abortion supporters DID refer to killing babies and not undifferentiated tissue masses.

This PC language spinning is for the birds.

Give or take a few million? I don’t think he quite rose to that scale. But he killed innocents on a broader scale, that I will grant you, but I would not place him on the same scale. It won’t balance.
Well, consider this: Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot, and whoever else I included were actual heads of actual states and had armies and legions of killers who worked for them to carry out the killings.

Tiller did his work all by his lonesome. (with one or two assistants).

For the most part, Hitler, Stalin, Mao, Pol Pot and the others also had armies of apologists and propagandists who worked assiduously to CONCEAL their killing. They didn’t brag about it. They even denied it. [Stalin blamed Hitler for the Katyn Woods massacre, for example.]

They even devised new language to “sanitize” their killing … they called it “liquidation”, for example. And they had “labor camps”.

One who is interested might read: “Major Jordan’s Diaries” … it’s available for free on-line in samazdat format; just down load it and print it out. He talks about, among other things, how U.S. Lend Lease assistance was used to fix up ships that took political prisoners to the Koleyma gold mines.

But Tiller was not a head of state.

He was just your average man-on-the-street who just happened to have a business of killing babies. sixty thousand of them.

I wonder … if you added up all the people who did killing for Stalin, Hitler & Co, and divided that number into the total number killed … would Tiller’s 60,000 put him into the top ten category?

Profound points. And the “language spinning” is goofy.
Listen closely to Obama. The way he phrases things. It’s all a sham.
He needs a piece of chalk.

This language spinning is something else.

When I was a kid, there was a commercial for some kind of cleaning product that emulsified grease.

One of the tag lines was “do you know what it’s like to be emulsified?”

It kind of stuck with me.

One of my friends later on had escaped from one of the Soviet Union’s satellite states. He used to joke about being threatened with liquidation. And he would say…“Do you know what it’s like to be liquidated?”

[sigh] … termination … liquidation … emulsification …

[can’t make this stuff up]

Whenever I have a root canal done or a tooth extraction, the doctor will show me the X-rays of the tooth that he is going to treat or “terminate”.

But the pro-choice crowd fights tooth-and-nail against showing pregnant mothers the ultrasound pictures of those “undifferentiated tissue masses” in their wombs, before killing, err, “terminating” them.

I guess because they stand for “transparency”.

How about State-sponsored infanticide?

Socialists are using a combination of words now to mask the
true meaning of the deed. Just as you guys have suggested.

I may be wrong, but I think the general unsuspecting population
is unaware of it. Maybe this is where someone like Coulter can shake people from their
slumber.

Everyone’s asleep on this. Well…not everyone. Cause if you push back
it creates an uproar.

And we’re supposed to listen to Joy Behar, Whoopie Goldberg and Katie Couric.
(Katie’s a Catholic) Sad, but true.

When I pushed back once, I was told I was being divisive.

The last thing I would ever want to be is “divisive”.

Heaven forfend.

I understand that vans with portable ultrasound machines are very effective in combating abortion.

The last thing we would want is to pierce the veil of concealment.

[Don’t pay any attention to the man behind the curtain.]

Al,

This is really good. Keep going.

My dentist looked at a nerve in my tooth just before a root canal and said
it had “mixed vitality.” I thought that was rich.

But here we go with words again. You can use these expresssions to “cross pollenate”
a situation very effectively. Kind of high brow, but this is what’s happening.

I very much enjoyed this exchange with you guys.

The other day I was channel surfing and came upon Fr. John Corapi on EWTN in one of his retreat speeches.

He said that abortion is satanic. Human sacrifice as part of satanic worship.

That supporters of abortion, unchallenged, used an incomplete sentence … “right to choose” “choose WHAT???”, he added ]

Got me to thinking that perhaps we need a legion of exorcists to pray and then spray holy water at the buildings where abortions are conducted.

By deliberately using abortionists’ language against them, Coulter is illustrating the emptiness of their language. And when she is attacked, we wonder … why is SHE being singled out for attack? [Apparently, though, Corapi also gets attacked.]

The shame is that it is taking soooo long to find a few effective words in this battle against satan. And Coulter isn’t even Catholic. Where are our Catholic warriors in this battle against satan?

We should be in the leadership.

But too many of our leaders just act like butterflies and flit from one “good cause” to another.
