I read this tonight and first of all I greatly admire these men and their families … and second of all I hope people will pray for them.
In mid February, Tim, got a call from his local union with the news every laid off worker longs to hear — a job offer.
It couldn’t have come at a better time. Tim’s unemployment benefits were about to run out. He could hardly believe what the voice on the other end was presenting to him — an offer to be a job foreman for at least 11 months, with a salary of $65,000 to $70,000 a year.
Perfect, Tim thought. Then came the bad news — he would be working on construction of a new Planned Parent*hood Clinic in St. Paul on University Avenue. The highest of highs became the lowest of lows as he quickly turned down the offer.
“The roller coaster started going downhill,” said Tim, 38. “He [union rep] wasn’t really sure if there were going to be abortions there. He kind of sidestepped that, I think, to try to entice me to say yes. But, I said, ‘Wait a minute. It’s a Planned Parenthood.’”
And, just like that, Tim went back to being unemployed with no immediate prospects — and his unemployment benefits set to run out sometime this month.

I will pray for them:

Hail Mary, full of grace
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou amongst women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.
Amen.:signofcross:

Some more details on one of the men:

Hopefully, that article, which appeared in the official newspaper of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis, will help him find an employer.

It’s admirable that he stuck to his principles and didn’t participate in something like this that went against his conscience…even if abortions were not there, Planned Parenthood buildings distribute other things like condoms, do vasectomies and pass out abortion literature and they’re linked to abortions elsewhere.

Great story of courage.

Prayers for Tim and his family. I hope perhaps a pro-life organisation learns about him and offers him a similar job.

This man showed great courage in his convictions considering his own circumstances as unimportant compared to his faith and moral code. I will pray for his welfare and that the Lord will shelter him and his family in this trial and reward him with something meaningful soon.

I truly believe that God uses situations like this to remind us that our money is not permanent but our reward in heaven is. This man is quite a becon of hope to those who are in the same situation.

My own family is unemployed, searching for a job, and I think that we will one day get a new job, but not without choosing God first. God will provide, he always does.
