I agree.What I am saying is that dating can never be used by a Catholic to create a relationship with someone who we would never think of marrying.
But some things are easier to address beforehand than others. Some things you find out as you get to know one another.
I completely agree that you don’t date someone once you know you would never marry them.
Once you find that out, you move on - politely and respectfully of course.If we find ourselves on a bona fide date with someone who could not possibly be our spouse then we are doing it wrong.
That’s pretty much the point of dating, or courtship. Getting to know the person and gradually discerning the future prospects of the relationship.
