no he’s not insane. he was just overflowing with faith to have the guts to invade a catholic church.
And should I invade my across the street neighbor’s mega- non -denom church, create disruption, cast holy water all around, etc. etc etc. I can assure you that the local cops are gonna be there instantaneously. My neighbor is chaplain for the sherriff’s department.

But, that is not something we Catholics do - even in that part of south Louisiana which was not Catholic before Katrina and has become Catholic. Think about that.

Hmm… I don’t know. I still think the Jack Chick junk rivals the Westboro rubbish in terms of foul intellectual odor.

100% behind Freshman88 in this one. The way that guy was ranting and raving, you’re darn right I’d have wanted him “escorted” out; it seems like it would’ve been only a matter of time before the guy parked himself in a pew and started tossing missals. As the mother of two young daughters, I’d be VERY concerned if this crazy–no matter how misguided–were in the vicinity of my babies.
I live in a predomitely fundamentalist area, and I am am waiting for the opportunity. 😉 😃
No violence of course, I just like seeing them implode when they meet a former collegue.
😃

I agree, personally if anyone ever handed me a Chick Tract, I’d give them a frown then find some place private and take out my old trusty lighter.

i watched the video - and thats disturbing - but i was more concerned with the videos after it - i watched (or began viewing) one called Are Roman Catholics Christians? and the movie started claiming that catholics are pagans and that we took the Eucharist and other things from the pagans!! It really disturbs me that they would think such things and hurts me further when I try to show Protestant friends of mine what we really believe! How can i do that with that kind of stuff about!!! anyway - if you’ve seen this horrible video, could you help me show that their assumptions about our beliefs are wrong! I know of information that contradicts theirs - but i can’t remember where i found it…

^ speaking of jack chick, what happens to nuns who get pregnant?

Historical truth prevails
Ultimately, all attempts to prove Catholicism “pagan” fail. Catholic doctrines are neither borrowed from the mystery religions nor introduced from pagans after the conversion of Constantine. To make a charge of paganism stick, one must be able to show more than a similarity between something in the Church and something in the non-Christian world. One must be able to demonstrate a legitimate connection between the two, showing clearly that one is a result of the other, and that there is something wrong with the non-Christian item.
In the final analysis, nobody has been able to prove these things regarding a doctrine of the Catholic faith, or even its officially authorized practices. The charge of paganism just doesn’t work.

Message from Ralph Woodrow regarding the book BABYLON MYSTERY RELIGION
Because misinformation about this decision persists on the Internet, and in other ways, the aim of this article is to set the record straight.

According to one rumor, “the Catholics” put so much pressure on me, I had a heart attack and almost died! Consequently, I “recanted” and wrote the other book. There is no truth to this!

Sadly, something like that makes the idea of making fools out of them all the more tempting. 😦

It’s worse when you’re still dealing with crazy teenage impulses like me. ^^;

Thank you dosdog and (name removed by moderator) for your posts!! they were very helpful. Dosdog, your post reminded me of the article i read here on Catholic Answers. I guess I should have really just trusted the Apostles! but i tend to doubt i think sometimes - never completely but somewhat partially based on silly assumptions of others - and maybe thats my flaw, that I don’t trust enough and i doubt too much - but im hoping my questions and slight doubts will lead me to a greater appreciation of my faith and a stronger desire to follow God.

so thanks so much for your help!!

Here is my theory -half the world is crazy - the rest are not too far behind -

well i hope im not becoming to crazy!! 😃
Being crazy is not so bad. I myself develop multiple-personalities every time I’m on the net. 😛

You just have to remember that there are some kinds of ‘Crazy’ that shouldn’t be allowed.

One fine example is the crazy fundaMENTAL behaviour of that street preacher. XD

Documentary of a Hippie Preacher
A documentary about Lonnie Frisbee, a key figure in the Jesus Movement and the growth of Calvary Chapel, is making the rounds at film festivals. We talked to the director about Frisbee, who died of AIDS in 1993.

He has some other and more recent “Nun scandals” in the thread he just made. Though I doubt they’re any better than the Maria Monk fable.
