What does the Church teach dogmatically about creation, and about eschatology?

As far as I know–God created the universe and all that is in it, though the Church does not teach how or when that was done, and God created human beings. As for eschatology–Jesus Christ will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead, as to when has not been revealed. At the Ascension the angel said He will come in the same way He left.

Jesus said that before the end there would be wars and rumors of wars, earthquakes, floods, etc. and a period of tribulation, but Church does not have any particular teaching on the end times like is prevalent in so many Protestant sects today. We are always to be ready for His Coming, whether it is by our natural death or at the End.

Basically, what is in the Creed.

“Much less has been defined as to when the universe, life, and man appeared. The Church has infallibly determined that the universe is of finite age—that it has not existed from all eternity—but it has not infallibly defined whether the world was created only a few thousand years ago or whether it was created several billion years ago.”

"It is impossible to dismiss the events of Genesis 1 as a mere legend. They are accounts of real history, even if they are told in a style of historical writing that Westerners do not typically use.

Adam and Eve: Real People

It is equally impermissible to dismiss the story of Adam and Eve and the fall (Gen. 2–3) as a fiction. A question often raised in this context is whether the human race descended from an original pair of two human beings (a teaching known as monogenism) or a pool of early human couples (a teaching known as polygenism). "

The quotes are from the Catholic Answers library archive.

yes this is my understanding of church teaching as well. That God created all. That we are decendant form the original parnets Adam and EVE. It makes no claims on the how or when. Same for the End Christ will return we know not when.

If you want to read the best book concerning what Catholics have to say concerning the end of the world there really is only one book to read. The Title of the book is, “TRIAL, TRIBULATION & TRIUMPH Before, during and after Antichrist”. It was researched and written over a 23 year period by Desmond A. Birch. It is published and available from Queenship Publishing Company. the approx. cost is 30.00 and well worth the price! Check it out.👍
