Why did God create the eath in such a way ( called “statu viae” in latin ) that eartquakes occurs and not in a stable mode that no earthquakes would occur ? In other words, why did God create a thing that is not perfect ?

A living planet must have plate techtonics. When the heat within the planet cools to the point that techtonics stop, the planet “dies”.

Most people realize the risk that exists when they choose to build and live in areas affected by earthquakes, subduction zones and volcanoes.

I live in an area affected by severe winter cooling and springtime tornadoes.

why do you assume that because the earth (and the rest of the universe) conform to natural law that they are not therefore perfect? It is God, their Creator, who defines what is perfect for them, not their created inhabitants. Do you know anything of the history of earth’s geology and how its crust has been formed?

Had I been quicker, I would have given a response almost identical to this one. Thanks yet again puzzleannie.

Is there any evidence of earthquakes before the fall?
Maybe they are the result of the fall.

Are there any earth quakes before the flood?
Maybe all that water on top of the plates made them start moving around.

Is a world without sin perfect?
Or is a world where sin is covered by the cross perfect?

We are always tempted to judge God’s creation by our own standard. It is always a mistake.

Yep. No molten iron core, no magnetic field. No magnetic field, no atmosphere. A molten core means that you’ll have a molten mantle which is what puts pressure on the crust to move (unevenly due to convection in the mantle), creating cracks (faults, i.e., San Andreas Fault in California), holes (volcanoes created by hotspots i.e., Hawaii, or subduction, i.e., Mount Rainer), subduction zones (trenches such as the Mariannas Trench )), spreading (mid-ocean ridges, i.e., the Atlantic Ocean, Africa’s Great Rift Valley and Iceland) and uplift (Himalayas).

As a fan of the Paleo-Tethys Ocean, you should explain that you’re not talking about a seduction zone.

Why “must have” ? Could not God design it another way ?

What is that “natural law” ? As the universe is created from nothing, how can exist a low before the creation. Are you saying that dying in an earthquate is good for the “created inhabitants”?

Theologically we must conclude that an all-knowing and all-powerful God did create the universe in the best possible way. So it is logical to conclude that the natural world either operates the way He intended it to, or that it is corrupted by the effects of sin. Paul tells us “all creation groans” awaiting the fulfillment of the promise of redemption.

The constant renewing of the earth, the very elements that make it possible for us to exist here, are all part of the natural law as we see it in action today. We cannot conceive of an alternative - maybe God can.

We believe that He created us with the potential to choose right or wrong, because if He had made us otherwise, we would not have been free to choose to obey and love Him. Perhaps some similar paradox exists in His creation of the physical world.

But as Job reminds us - who are we to question the mind of God?
