PhilVaz - My point is the same as it has been since I entered the evolutionists threads here: I see evidence that shows evolution is possible, so I will not argue against all forms of evolution from a scientific perspective. But you don’t seem to understand that I cannot just ignore the problem of the incompatibility of evolution and Christianity, as you seem to be able to do. No offense, really…I simply cannot overlook what I see as a major problem, while you seem to be able to do just that. You freely admit you personally cannot reconcile the two. Nor have I found anyone else who can reconcile the two.
The implications of evolution are signiifcant. That is why (If I may put words in his mouth) Buffalo says evolution is a tool of athiests. I would narrow that down a bit more and say that it is the premise of the religion called Naturalism, which leads to atheism.
Therefore, I cannot accept evolution, even if science shows it is possible (which is all science can do). I am a Christian first. Every other truth can only be accepted on the condition that it does not contradict the primary absolute truth of Christianity. Therefore, I only argue against evolution in so much as I see it conflicts with Christianity.
If you can overlook this very big problem, then that is your choice. I cannot. Therefore, when the topic of evolution comes up on a Christian web-site, I will defend Christianity *against * evolution, since the two do not live in harmony. Don’t condemn me for my endeavors here. The result of it could ultimately benefit you, by helping to clarify what appears to be an unresolved issue in your own life. If you are Catholic, then you and I have the same objective.
You may also notice that even the athiests on these threads cannot discuss the matter with Christians without inserting their own beliefs about God.
