Creation: Why Did God Take Billions Of Years?

I don’t believe that in the sense of our human observation it took billions of years.

I know questions like this have no definitive answer, but why didn’t God just “snap his finger” and put man and all other life forms on Earth instead of the whole long process that developed? I think for many non-believers this is another reason for them to doubt the existence of God
An answer to a question is often a question in itself. So here is your question/answer:
What is time?
Or
What is time to God?

That’s your right, but it doesn’t change the facts of well established mainstream science.

To God, a billion years is like the snap of a finger
A misunderstanding of God and eternity. The apology of how time seems to move faster for us as we grow old is likewise misplaced.

God sees all time simultaneously. He does not just experience time faster than us.

This reminds me of an old joke. A man is talking to God and asks, God what is a billion years like to you? God says, hardly a second. Then he asks, God what is a billion dollars like to you? God says hardly a penny. The man asks, God can I have a billion dollars? God says, okay in a second

God is outside of time, so billions of years to create the universe and humanity is literally not even a measure of time to God.

Humanity is measured with in time, we have a life span, we have immediate needs that need immediate answers, But God isn’t limited or constrained by time. I look at the snap of the finger thing as, God isn’t a genie, we may fall out of plane with no parachute , be starving to death , war breaks out all over the place, a lot of unfair things happen, but if God just snapped his fingers and interviened each and every time, that is more of a utopia or heaven we are wanting. Or a miracle, God just isn’t a genie. His answers dont make sense to a human way of thinking. Makes sense to God though. Guess that is all that matters…

Why are some reptiles able to regenerate a tail, why do sharks have ever growing rows of teeth, yet humans have limited regeneration properties of the body .

I would say our perception of time is different from God’s, since we are not omniscient and are immersed in time, as it were. Obviously no analogy is absolutely perfect when we compare ourselves to God.

He is the sower of the seed. Like a farmer he plants a seed, watches it growing, watches the rain come in, sun shine, until harvest comes. He enjoys every day of the growing. Snap his fingers? Why on earth would he?

Have you gone hiking? Enjoyed the smell of the pine trees, saw the flowers in bloom, saw animal tracks. Birds singing, squirrels running about. Sunshine coming through the leaves in the trees. Maybe the smell of a campfire. Soaking in the beauty. Why wouldn’t God enjoy his creation like this?

Orchids. Holy Moses. Do you know how many varieties exist? It seems to me that God enjoys the beauty in creation, that just in this one thing on a very big planet, there are so many!

“The orchid family includes nearly 900 genera, somewhere between 20,000 and 30,000 species and over 70,000 hybrids or cultivars.” The Orchid Family or orchidaceae are the largest family of angiosperms, or flowering plants in the world. Approximately twenty thousand species and nine hundred genera of orchids are known."

Even in creating an apple, God designed that the tree be full of blossoms first. He didn’t have to do it that way. The tree could have just grown apples.

I am grateful he’s not much of a ‘snap your fingers’ kind of God.

The order and beauty and balance of creation from the molecular level to the biology of living things to the balance of nature on the planet should all be reason for non-believers to believe that there was a Somebody who put order into place, by design. If a non-believer persists in their unbelief in the sight of all creation, there is more going on inside their heart than we can see. No clever argument will convince them if they don’t want to be convinced.
