A convicted criminal who was serving out his sentence in a monastery has escaped for the second time and asked to be sent back to prison because life was too tough.
Thief David Catalano, 31, was sent to a Santa Maria degli Angeli community run by Capuchin monks in Sicily last November.
But he found their austere lifetstyle too tough to handle and soon escaped. After a short while on the run he was caught by police and sent back.

Greetings to those reading this thread,

Monastic life can be hard for those who are not there to serve a sentence. It is a very penitential life. Wow, maybe we would have less criminals if we could set up something like this in every country. We could scare Jesus into them for lack of a better word.

God Bless.

😃

I’ve watched two television series (one in the U.S. and one in England) of a group of men chosen by the film crew - to commit themselves for a month to a monestery.

I laughed so hard with the majority of the episodes. In the first monestery (in the U.S.) the men weren’t allowed to talk save for an hour during group activity. :rotfl:

By day three, the majority of the men were ready to pack and leave. Eventually, life for them there, leveled out, and they learned a great deal about themselves through this period of introspection.

I would LOVE to see those. Do you remember the programs’ names? I’ve got to look them up.
