Just as the majority of people today recognize the drug prohibition is not working, yet its been aggressively enforced for many decades now, and they are getting more aggressive as time goes by.
Dry counties are not really dry, sure, retail stores cannot sell, but people living in these areas just pick up their booze when they are out of the county and bring them home, there is NO enforcement of activities like this, and I doubt a cop would do anything if he found a case of beer in someones house, so its more of a rule for stores, and its pointless imo, because people can just travel a bit further down the road and be able to buy it.
Yea that was a really bad way to make my point. My emotional processing is kind of messed up from rampant drug and alcohol abuse, but it should get back to working order if I stay in AA. I’ll work on not being an condescending jackass, but it’s likely to happen again, and I can accept that.
What I should’ve said is something along the lines of, "from extensive amounts of personal experience, I would have to agree that drug use can, and indeed does cause a lot of problems. My primary concern is that prohibition and the prison industrial complex seem to be exacerbating these problems.
It’s in human nature to desire to keep one’s family safe, unfortunately I suspect some leaders may be exploiting this desire for personal gain. A lot of leaders of various industry’s profit from keeping drugs and jails full, perhaps you should do your own researcher on who lobby’s congress the most on these issues. I would kindly suggest you consider the possibility of decriminalizing drugs and making it a public health issue like a lot of European country’s do.
Maybe, just maybe, if we taught our nations children and teens that drug abuse is bad (while using real, non exaggerated facts) and spent the money we would be incarcerating people with on rehab and harm reduction programs, the over all problem would be greatly reduced. If such a program didn’t work, we could always return to the current system."
Yea my English is atrocious, just disregard any errors until I return to school and have a greater incentive to learn consensus grammar.
Sorry for being rude. It was hypocritical for me to talk to Jesus that way. All of us are the body of Christ, If I don’t always act like it it’s because I lack faith.
