Crisis- Caring situation with my mother

Lord Jesus and Holy Mother, please bless Teresa, her mother, and sisters. Please especially give Teresa patience and strength as she awaits the return of the social worker from medical leave. Please watch over the social worker during her hospital visit and provide quick and effective healing. Please guide her and all the other professionals and concerned parties to do what is best for this family. Amen.

Hail, holy Queen, Mother of mercy, hail, our life, our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve: to thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. UPDATE

I finally had a phone call this morning from Social Services they are coming out to the house to do an Assessment on my mother on Thursday August 1st at 12.30pm. I shall let you know the outcome.
Thankyou to each and every one of you dear Friends and brothers and sisters in Christ…I am so grateful to each one of you.My love and prayers for each of you

My husband and I lived with his mother for 2.5 years before she died so I understand completely your difficulties. I recommend you talk to her doctors about these issues. What I was able to do was use e-mail to contact doctors because it was difficult to talk to them while mom was in the room. I also had a sister-in-law who helped a few mornings a week. There are times looking back when I wonder if a foster care situation may have been better for her. Here in Oregon we have quite a few that give the elderly a social life and there are cpn’s that hand out meds when needed. I know this is hard to do, but it may be for your sanity. The other thing that I wish I had done earlier is to calling in hospice care. It is difficult to know when it is time for this when you are in the thick of it. Talking to your mom’s doctors way in advance may help you evaluate when these other options may help.

I will indeed pray for you and your family.

Care-taking is one of the greatest gifts we can give our parents. We need to make sure we don’t crack up in the process.
