You are making the assertion, you have to provide proof that it is.
 
The principle isn’t the same because is not inherently sinful to wear women’s clothing.
 
No, you haven’t. You have misinterpreted Church documents. Perhaps you should speak to your pastor about this.
 
I think your fundamental misunderstanding goes back to where you compared dressing up for Halloween to women wearing pants, and even worse, blackface.

So what does that say about Saint Pope John Paul II. He at one time was an actor.
 
Not if it’s part of a costume. And if you’re suggesting that theatre is itself condemned, someone needs to tell St. John Paul II.
 
No, actually it is not. St. Thomas is not magisterial authority.
If he is, the pro-life movement will have quite a problem, since Aquinas also taught that life began 40 days after conception.
 
Ok. Have it your way. Based on that, life begins 40 days after conception. Because Aquinas says so. Even though later teaching has clearly changed that.

In the same way, the Church does not arbitrarily condemn dressing in costume and participating in theater any longer. A Halloween costume is of that nature, not cross-dressing.

To the OP, wear the costume, have fun. If someone is scandalized by it, that is an issue they should take up with a priest or therapist.
 
You have given no authoritative citation that the Church still condemns theater and, by extension, dressing in costume. Your examples would be contradicted by St. John Paul II’s participation in theater and by the screenings of films at the Vatican.
