So then Satan gives it back in sanctification? Do those that are the elect give their wills back to the devil whenever they freely choose to sin?
Huh? I don’t get your question. Everyone is a slave to sin until God calls one out, there is no free will

I would be interested in the OP’s (name removed by moderator)ut correlating Calvin and the Judas betrayal.

Not a precanned misuse of logic like before, but some straight forward personal reflections or observations.

That statement might be misconstrued to mean that we are not responsible for our sins (no free will) until after “God calls one out”

or

God “calls each of us out” before we commit any sin.

LOL, is a TULIP holding Calvinist allowed to join in crushing the TULIP as well?

I think the acronym is in need of a little tweaking back toward original meanings of language at the time it was compiled to refute Arminianism. Here’s a try at clarification:

T (usually as total depravity) = is perhaps better termed radical corruption. These days “total depravity” tends to convey the concept that man is as bad as he can be, like some deranged madman foaming at the mouth or homicidal maniac with a butcher knife. This is not what the Reformers had in mind, but that as a creature fallen into sin, man is incapable in the entirety of his being of being completely holy as God requires, his corruption by sin entirely affects his whole person. He is utterly dependant upon the grace of almighty God for righteousness. God has created us with a continuing natural ability to make choices, but our moral ability is enslaved by the Fall to our own corrupted desires. Without a wholly holy inclination to be good, we are bound to be evil in some respect, which is insufficient for perfect fellowship with our Holy God.

U (usually as unconditional election) = is perhaps better termed sovereign election. As has been said, this indeed conveys that in and of Himself and for His own glory God chooses those whom he will. It is God who determines who will enter into His Paradise. He sovereignly is the Gatekeeper, and though not conditioned upon any of His Creation to allow anything, to ‘elect’ anyone, his choosing is not arbitrary, but subject to His determination solely within Himself as an aspect of who he is.

L (usually as limited atonement) = is perhaps better termed particular redemption. There’s quite a lot of modern confusion over “limited”. A better term would be “particular” or “purposeful” - that God particularly and purposely redeems each and every person He qualifies for Heaven by the remission of their sins and infusion with righteousness as His new spiritual creation. God truly saves those whom He saves with particular application of salvation to each of them.

**I **(usually as irresistible grace) = is perhaps better termed efficacious grace. His grace is completely effective or efficacious toward salvation. That is, it accomplishes that to which it is applied. Once the Holy Spirit inwardly calls and enables a righteous decision, a righteous decision will be made. If God has predestined one to an eternity in right fellowship with Him, if this is the sovereign choice of our King, it will not be thwarted or prevented by any force outside of God Himself.

P (usually perseverance of the saints) = is perhaps better termed preservation of the saints (though saints too might need a turn of humble phrase). God preserves His own in truly and completely saving for eternity those whom he saves, by definition of salvation. He is faithful and wholly capable of keeping each of those he has chosen to a life of holiness in His hands and by the power of His Spirit.

I don’t know, maybe it’s not so much a crushing of the TULIP as freshening up the water and soil a bit. :hug1:

Edit: Since Noah’s ark saved a select few…

including those first two mosquitoes… dang it 😛
LOL, so that’s what happened to the dinosaurs 😉 - they chose of their own free-will not to board, along with all but mostly two of all the other aminals. 🙂
