For a family of four, the first $36,000 of income will not be taxed. It will effectively be taxed at 0%.

Instead of seven different tax rates for different incomes, there will be one tax rate: 10% for all individuals. The Child Tax Credit remains in place. Earned Income Tax Credit is expanded.

A simple, flat tax will create 4.8 million new jobs and increase wages by 12%.

That’s news to me.

Pretty much all politicians seem to call themselves “Pro-Life”, at least Republican politicians.

I even recall Democrats such as the late Edward Kennedy clarifying his “Pro-Life” stance but only when he was pressed. It concerns him only personally (but not into the political arena). Kennedy tried to pass as “Pro-Life”. Later Kennedy threw off the mask as his life views deteriorated even further.

Here is what I am basing my conclusion about Dr. Carson upon.

• Dr. Carson carried out abortion referrals as a practicing physician (something “Pro-Life” doctors just do not do. He never backtracked from those as far as I know).
• Although, Dr. Carson did NOT receive aborted fetal body parts for research from Planned Parenthood, it turns out he earlier DID (in the 1990’s if I recall correctly) utilize aborted baby parts for his “research”.
• Dr. Carson favors the “abortion pill” being available in Emergency Rooms.
• And later on, Carson defined “life” as when a baby’s heart starts beating.

These were the reasons for my conclusions.

I did not necessarily count Dr. Carson’s prior endorsement of pro-gay-marriage and pro-abortion candidate Monica Wehby against him (as some in the Pro-Life community did—see Personhood Ohio here or below for example) simply because I have no idea what the other candidate may have been like (it MAY have been a “lesser of two evils” endorsement by Dr. Carson).

The most Pro-Life candidate in this race has consistently been Senator Cruz. There are other reasons he has my support too but the life issue is as FOUNDATIONAL as it gets.

Of course being “Pro-Life” is more than a mere political “issue”.

Being “Pro-Life” is a worldview.

Here are some details I have archived expounding upon what I said in my last post (just to “source” some of my conclusions) . . .

As early as last August Carson was losing support among Pro-Life Christians who were astonished that Carson came out in support of giving medication that can kill a conceived baby— RU-486 in Emergency Rooms in certain cases!

Also Dr. Carson refused to recognize a developing human being in ALL stages as “living” but affirming a developing human’s life begins “once the heart starts beating.”

Planned Parenthood was under fire publicly at that time for allegedly trafficking in human body parts.

Many people were not only concerned about Planned Parenthood’s alleged “harvesting” of these baby parts but WHO would be using them?

It was reported on August 13, 2015 by Ben Johnson at Life Site News that Dr. Carson had worked on aborted babies brains for “research” purposes.

First they will say, trump lied about cruz coordinating with super pacs, and then they will say it’s no big deal; all candidates talk to their super pacs (well except those who don’t have super pacs like Trump). Never mind it’s an illegal thing to do.

Trump hasn’t actually funded his primary campaign yet. He’s only loaned his campaign money so far, he hasn’t actually given the campaign any money. For those who don’t understand the difference, loans to the campaign can be repaid at any time by future donations to the general election campaign.

Apparently you didn’t read the rest of the post. Their god is okay with divorce and birth control. Their god does not exist in the Bread and Wine. Their god did not give priests the ability to forgive sins. Yes, many believe in the Trinity, but that is where it stops.

God Himself will decide which of us are true believers. I can only go by what the Catholic Church teaches while I am still alive.

NB: at this point I am voting Cruz in my primary, BTW

I’ve seen that mentioned many times as a plus, but there is a flip side to that as well. Do we want to live in a country where only the super rich have a shot at political office? Do we want a business man taking the reins and putting him in a position to make decisions that will benefit his business once his term is over? There is a potential negative aspect to Trump’s wealth.

It is interesting to see what will happen. From what I keep seeing, Cruz needs to win more than 80% of the remaining delegates to win the nomination outright. I don’t see that happening. But Trump needs to win 55%. I don’t see that happening either. It’s looking more and more like we will get to see a brokered convention. If nothing else, it’s a great civics lesson in how the nomination process actually works.

not sure why catholics can be so excited about cruz given the fact he’s probably not electable and he’s such a right-wing ideologue. i think if he gets the nomination, hillary will win.

he’s a fundamentalist, he isn’t fit to be our president. kasich and rubio would be better to run against hillary.

Well, I’m a moderate Republican, but I figure we cannot expect to always have a moderate nominee – just lik right wingers can’t expect to always have a right wing nominee.

On a side note, I think anyone who has spent even a little time on CAF should realize that there exist Catholics who are right wing.

Well, let’s see why Catholics like Cruz:

1. He’s pro-life
2. He’ll appoint justices who won’t force the Catholic Church to do things it doesn’t want to do just other people can feel good inside.

One would hope that about any GOP nominee. Of course, the past year has shown that we cannot be certain of very much.

Normally I’d say those are good questions, but they pale in comparison with the fact that sallybutler claimed (on a Catholic forum mind you) that we don’t worship the same God that Protestants do. I mean where do you even go from there?
