This idea sounds ridiculous, but I wonder sometimes if Mr. Cruz is prophesied “Great Monarch”. Am I the only one with this idea?

If he isn’t that, he will definitely be another George Washington.
 
That Web site is not representative of those who believe in the Great Monarch, however.

I think it could be Mr. Cruz - Catholicism is in his blood, even though he is Baptist. He may convert. If it isn’t, I have already said that Cruz will be a monumental leader - another George Washington.

:ehh:…George Washington? Let’s not set our sights too high here.

I would say more like Reagan and Nixon put in a blender. I think the biggest suprise will be the fact that he can function effectively in the center. But, let’s face it, he will have fights, huge ones. The liberals and media will be in a constant dog/cat fight with him (not unlike Obama and the Republicans). And, there is that slight problem of getting elected. 😃

Seriously, I am behind him and hope he does well. Not because he is “my guy”, though that is, of course, part of it, but because I think he is best for the GOP and the best candidate for the country at this time out of the remaining choices. Make it work, as they say. (if Kasich can pull in some delegates in the East, that might pull Cruz to the center on platform a little bit, a good thing; also he has to learn to work with opponents, give and take, something Obama never did)

And btw, in addition to above, the GOP is not going to unite into one cohesive voting block/party via the biggest sledgehammer blow delivered by the nastiest candidate on his competitor. In fact, I fear the GOP will not unite at all. The problem with the sledgehammer approach is that it creates bad blood, permanent bad blood.

If Cruz is the nominee and Trump supporters don’t back him, they would be betraying their own principles and it would send a shot around the world that like #occupy and possibly BLM, that all they like to do is talk, talk, talk but not walk the walk.

IF Clinton wins this election, it will be ULTIMATE confirmation that at end of it all, after “Hope and change”, the TEA PARTY, Benghazi, E-mail-gate, the 2014 midterms and even with Trump, Cruz and Sanders directly challenging them, they, THE PEOPLE, come running back into the arms of the establishment.

That’s the message they’ll get with an HRC win, be it independents, GOP or DEM: The people need US to survive and will ALWAYS and FOREVER love us.

I think it is mainly the GOP establishment that is in trouble. I haven’t seen much to suggest that the Democratic establishment really needs to worry.

Actually this is the one ray of light for Republicans. At least for now, the Dems are getting nasty, “going GOP” if you will. Not as bad as us of course, but nerves are getting frayed. Bill Clinton confronted a Black Lives Matter protestor yesterday - “the truth hurts”. (Dems/ Hillary do fight for minority issues) That did not go down well with some African Americans in the party, in Hillary’s or Bernie’s camp. (I personally was glad he did it.) Bernie is questioning Hillary’s qualifications for presidency. Hillary’s people are hitting back on Bernie as being a bit of a loon. (my word not theirs) I think Hillary will win and much of the party will coalesce behind her. But the ray of light is that the outer edges of the Sanders support stays home. Just enough to weaken Hillary. This includes the 20 somethings for whom Bernie is a real cult-like Trump-like figure. Bernie’s following is fiercely loyal to him, much like Trump’s. All or nothing.

Again, as I discussed earlier above, I don’t see how the GOP puts itself back together after the convention no matter who wins (I still think Cruz is the favorite but via a bloodbath), so I predict the Dems, even weakened, will win. But the fact that they will do it with a divided base and not all of them voting adds even a little more salt to the wound.

Not quite like us, no.

I wish I understood what was happening in the GOP, I really do. Granted, I would probably feel better if I spent less time on the internet and more time interacting with Catholics (and of course Republicans, trying to stay relevant to the thread :)) in real life; but my circumstances make that a little difficult.

I think Bernie and Hillary were suffering from a bit of frustration or exhaustion. Bernie says “of course” Hillary is qualified, and Hillary said she’d rather have Bernie as president than any Republican:

Ultimately, I think the Democrats will present a united front behind their nominee. The Republicans, probably not, but we never know for sure.

Nobody is serving trump, are they? They are doing everything to kick him out. So if he loses, why does he owe anybody anything? You accused him of threatening the GOP. Oh no he doesn’t threaten anybody. Let people do whatever the heck they want. Let the chips fall.

I don’t think you are giving yourself quite enough credit, my dear! - in terms of “nobody serving Trump.”

And, while I do disagree with you and what Trump and his supporters are doing to the GOP - I admire your candor here: “Let the chips fall.” We nonTrumpers can’t say we were hoodwinked, that is for sure, now or after Hillary takes the White House.
